Cruise ship impact? Here's what they are seeing in Barcelona Spain:
Many locals also believe that these visitors have a negative impact on neighborhoods and the lives of locals. Misael Alerm of Stop Creuers Tarragona explained that "businesses are increasingly changing to serve this type of tourism" and locals no longer have many of the services they need because businesses have started to change to cater to these "people who come for a few hours and leave."
BVI seeing this to?

Certainly have seen that effect here in STT over my almost 50 years of full time residence. Almost no local stores in the cruise ship shopping districts anymore.

...;.which is not at all the same thing as "locals no longer have many of the services they need because businesses have started to change to cater to these "people who come for a few hours and leave."

Luckily on Virgin Gorda we are only impacted when cruise ships bring their guests to The Baths. On these days, I recommend avoiding The Baths entirely as it takes foreverrrrrrrrr to hike through The Caves and generally is not as beautiful of an experience
