Been forever since I have been here...medical junk and discovering bermuda....talked into a cruise with family mid jan and I want to head to stj to get away from them....anyone know who might rent for the day? We want to go to maho and the smoothie truck .....will only have a few hrs and it's killing me to have to leave already....big hi to nutmeg!....and thanks. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" />

Hey, Searose! Why don't you just jump ship and stay awhile? <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Wink.gif" alt="" /> I am not a car rental expert, but I hear it is difficult to rent in season. If you just want to go to one beach, maybe a taxi would suffice?

You'll need to call day before or day off and ask about availability. I've had good luck with Cool Breeze for the day.

None of the car rental companies will take a reservation for one day during the high season. As Rick said call the day before or walk around Cruz Bay the day you want to rent and ask about availability

It is often possible to find and rent a car for 1 day just getting off the ferry and asking all the cabdrivers and other agents at the end of the dock -- Certainly the earliest you can catch the ferry the better your chances.

Thanks for the help....we don't get off til 9 am so I'm not hopeful.....guess we will have to get a cab that will promise to come back...just wanted to pretend we were really staying on stj...I'm not up to a land trip right now....recovering from huge life change...retired and sold our house in kennebunk and moved to the big city of portland to my daughter's house....sort of like going to another planet....it's a process....very much miss stj...tho bermuda is pretty awesome!
