Greetings All,

Heading to Kill Devil Hills, NC for this years beach vacation end of May. Looking forward to it as we've never been before. We'll be staying at the Outer Banks Beach Club 1. Has anybody stayed there before? If so, any good tips? Restaurants?

Thanks in advance. smile

So I guess that no is going to chime in here, so I will. We have never stayed at the Outer banks Beach Club we are very familiar with the area. These condos have been around for a very long time and seem to be very popular amongst the vacationers. I know these units come in a one, two and three bedroom configuration. With that in mind not everyone will have an ocean view because of the way the buildings were designed.

As far as location they are almost right in the middle of Kill Devil Hills. You could literally walk right over the the Wright Brothers Memorial, which I suggest in stopping by, very interesting and a large part of American history. As far as restaurants in that area there are many to choose from. I can’t remember the name of it, but with walking distance there’s a great one, and I mean maybe a block or less than, I would definitely stop in there.

The thing about the outer banks is you can make it as busy as you want or simply just payed back. There’s lots to do on the outer banks, one example, go see every lighthouse in a day, you will have a great time doing that, and when you get to Ocracoke have lunch at the oldest restaurant on the island. There are also tons of hiking trails along the national sea shore. So like I say you can make anything out of your vacation you want out on the outer banks.

I hope this helps in some way, enjoy and have fun and welcome to North Carolina!

I also forgot to mention, that if you drive north on NC 158, go off the island and continue north. There is an extremely large water park on your left that you could literally spend the entire day at. From your location it’s about a twenty minute drive to, just thought I would mention that. Enjoy

You might check out the Lost Colony Museum as well located just a short drive down on Manteo Island.

Sorry, but I usually stay in Avon so not familiar with the Kitty Hawk restaurant scene.

I would suggest tuning your radio to the local channel 99.1 The Sound. Lots of good info local info.

Thank you SXMFOX for chiming in! smile I did some research on the property and yes, they do look like they've been there forever. I found out that we will be in Bldg 5 PH (3rd floor/3 bdrm). Unfortunately we will not have an ocean view but a pool view instead. That's okay. I'm sure I'll be down by the beach everyday anyway. We will be going to the Wright Bros. Memorial as well as checking out lighthouses. I was told about the Kill Devil Diner (Grill) that's supposedly very good. I signed up for emails from OBX/KDH so I'm getting updates on events happening for upcoming weeks. I'm sure we'll be busy on some days with exploring. The hubby and my bro-in-law will be golfing in the mornings while my sister and I work on our tans at the beach and pool.

Thank you again for the information and your suggestions. Looking forward to visiting the Outer Banks!
