Hi Everyone and Happy Easter.

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to submit a letter to the editor of the Daily Herald by email? I've had no success googling it.

Thanks!

Did you try editorial@thedailyherald.com ?

Fox--I think your link just gets you to previous editorials, unless I'm missing something.

This link does work: editorial@thedailyherald.com. I submitted a letter to the editor concerning animal abuse at the Morgan resort & Spa and it was published.

Cupecoy-the new Aqua project. Not that it will do any good, but they have been working pretty much 7 days a week, 10 hours a day. When they stared before 8:00 am on EASTER SUNDAY, it was the last straw for me.

We can hear it here. Along with the bar and music set up at the grocery store across the street. Good luck!

Thanks for the link, JD.

Wendy,

Your post was well stated. If only the island powers that be would read and act upon it. The holy day of Easter should NOT have to compete with the various construction noises and the neighbors shouldn’t have to deal with it on any Sunday, let alone Easter.

I’m not altogether sure where this is being built but hopefully not along the cliffs on the water side. Another obstacle to block the view or possibly lead to further damage to the already crumbling cliffs along Cupecoy Beach? Please tell me not!

Respectfully,

pat

Looks like it's being built on the waterfront on Simpson Bay side between Jordan Village and Porto Cupecoy.

Lagoon. Kind of behind the blue mall. It looks kind of like the Atlantis in the Bahamas 🤦🏻‍♀️

There is also supposed to be 250 hotel units going in where the Starz Casino was. Just ruining the area. So over built.

Thanks for the information everyone.
We're staying at a place in the Blue Mall, not my first choice but the group voted, hoping the noise won't be a problem.
Any thoughts? We are still within our time frame to cancel.

I personally wouldn't stay at the Blue Mall because the place is empty. I would be worried about security there.

The traffic around there will get extremely busy with all these condos going up, plus you have that ugly road near Mullet golf course that goes to Maho village.

We have stayed in the Cupecoy area many time with this group and the reviews of the place states people felt safe there. We will have an ocean view and a short drive to Porto Cupecoy. Like I mentioned this was not my first choice but I was overruled. If the construction noise is going to be a problem I could get everyone else on board otherwise I have to suck it up with the location. The plus is we can walk to Dany's if there is a beach while we're there.

It will be safe, but it won't be quiet. We live down the road and it's loud here.

To be clear, I was talking about Blue Mall, not Cupecoy in general. I would personally not feel safe in that big empty building.

Hi Carol, I have had several friends staying at the Blue Mall this winter, and all have been happy there and they feel secure. The units are very spacious with wonderful views, and the security to get into the building is tight. One must sign in with a receptionist before accessing the elevators.
That said, they have complained about the noise from the Aqua construction and another project which is going on just next to them.
