During our last stay 2021 we rented a villa. It was very nice and convenient on Orient Beach.
We paid for two weeks but during our stay the French government shut the water off for days at a time.
Not pleasant to say the least. We sacrificed our second week to go for comfort.
Florence saved our vacation by welcoming us at Orient Beach Hotel. Very nice facility.
Just wondering if this is still happening? Thanks in advance. carib cheers doctorj

I heard it was happening about a week or so ago. My suggestion is that if you want to book a villa again on the French side, just confirm that they have either a cistern or some other alternate water source.

BTW, doctorj, I edited the title of your post to state what it was really about.

Was off for 5 days in a row 2 weeks ago in Anse Marcel. How widespread, I don't know.

Thanks to everyone. That was horrible to come back from the beach and not know if you are getting a shower. Hope they figure it out. Orient Beach Hotel has their own water supply. It is a more expensive option. It would be nice if villas would advertise their water supply.
carib cheers, doctorj

Georgia--I have to assume the agent is correct, as the villas above Happy Bay are all pretty high end. We stayed at Canoua, and it definitely had a cistern.

beachy--it sounds like maybe the place you were in had a cistern.
