Not a great flight out of Newark on United. They kidnapped my carry on bag which contained my insulin and blood pressure medication despite my protests about needing these life saving medications. I was told “don’t worry if you make it they’ll make it”. Arrival was a snap. Quickly moved thru immigration and thankfully my carry on was on the carousel. Michael’s daughter from Unity(Dbest) was waiting for us. I have been using them for over 25 years. Always get treated right. On to Divi where check in was smooth except for the perennial fight at the concierge desk to schedule a “owners update” . I said no at least 10 times- no exaggeration. Several years ago we did it and the agent insulted me saying I only took the meeting to get the 100$. This is the only complaint I have with Divi having been coming for over 30 years. The resort is amazing. Anne Marie and her staff are doing a wonderful job. Camped out at the pool complex and had a great pizza from Slice for lunch. For dinner we headed to Maho for La Rosa II. Hadn’t been since Irma but the food was great. It was almost empty, which I don’t understand considering how good the food was. Moulin Fou was packed. Will head there sometime this trip. Roma where Cheri’s used to be looked beautiful. It will also be on the agenda for this trip. Don’t reall miss the drag shows, as it was the same shtick every year. Island inertia setting in already🤡🤡

Why did they take your Carry-on? I hear ROMA is great. Enjoy. I'm up front when I finally succumb to the Flamingo updates by telling them I'm only there to find out what's new and for the $200.00 visa card. I'm usually out in 45min. I do the early morning on a not so nice forecasted weather day. In and out quickly.

I am a Divi owner (although thinking about selling). Why do you even need to go to the concierge desk? Is there something else at that desk you need to do? I just stay away from the desk and avoid the "fight."

They send you over there to get your "welcome packet" AND your parking pass. Don't forget, you need to pay $20 (which you do get back) if you want to reserve your time to be sold timeshare that you don't need. I was prepared in December to argue with them because it isn't an owner's update. The last time we went, the guy even told us it isn't an owner's update. Apparently, because we were there in February, they didn't feel the need to argue with us. Michael says they have a picture of us behind the desk saying "don't mess with these two".

Last February when we were at Divi we told the Concierge desk very clearly that we had no intention of attending an owner's update that year or any future year. This year when we went to get our parking pass, we were pleasantly surprised that no one even mentioned it to us, and just gave us a small booklet with a map and instructions on how to get all the resort information on our phone. So we wondered if there was a note next to our name saying not to bother us with an appointment. We are also long owners, 28 years. We are winding down our travel, but hope to continue at Divi a few more years, then let the kids use it if they wish.

Went this the other day, but before our rep ‘Jackson’ started his pitch, I politely told him that we were not interested and our answer would be no. So he asked then why are you here, I told him about the concierge desk issue and he said that are not supposed to schedule the meeting if you say not interested, as it is a waste of time for both. Suzanne was there as well and said they will talk to the concierge desk about this issue. Obviously it has not happened yet.

SanFlip, I was told the very same thing in November by Jackson. That I should not schedule an owner's meeting if I did not intend to purchase addional points. I had been told before that the meeting was required.

Enjoy your time at our home away from home....would love to hear about some of the new food options at Divi and the upscale bar at Oceans if you pay them a visit. I never really mind the owner's update. We've known Suzanne since forever and we all reconnect and have a few laughs while listening to the non-update. Last year they had a "half-contract" offer which did make sense for us given our age and some life changes in our travel group. Like you SxmScubaman, we usually schedule it early in the morning on a day when there's a chance of bad weather.
Relax and enjoy -- we also agree that Annemarie and company are doing a great job at Divi. Looking forward to your updates!

We were at Divi the last week of February and first one of March and visited The Mix on the roof of Oceans twice. Both times we went around 6:00. The first time there was one other couple there. Shortly after, two other couples arrived, and a little later another one. Those were the only other people during our 1-1/2 hour visit. We had a pre dinner drink, and ordered from the menu. I had the Smoked Angus Beef Flatbread, and hubby had the Crab Cakes. Both were delicious and enough for our smaller senior appetites. The following week we went back and both ordered the Beef Flatbread. No one else showed up the entire time. We felt so bad for the bar tender and waitress, who had been so pleasant and helpful both times. Other Divi guests did say there were more people the night they went.

Thanks for sharing your experience. We will check it out in July during our stay. I also have a "senior" small appetite so it sounds perfect for me. I may have to get two for the hubby though. He hasn't caught on to the "small" part yet!

When we were there in January, there was still pressure at the concierge desk to sign up for the “update” meeting. We had to stop there to get parking pass. They also gave us the raffle tickets for the manager's party (not tickets to attend, but for the raffle). We also vigorously decline to sign up, but get hard sell every time. I think this time their incentive was $100 restaurant credit, but not worth wasting my time on vacation.

Yes, $100 voucher to use on site, but you needed to stay for the entire pitch, we didn’t stay either.
