Would just like some suggestions….we usually fly to San Juan then take Cape Air to VG….but Cape air is just getting too expensive. We could go Stt to VG via ferry but the non stop is only on Saturdays and I am not the best if the seas are rough…..so should we fly to SJ and connect to EIS via inter Caribbean or a different airline, then ferry over or fly to STT and to EIS via cape air and then ferry over or does anyone have another option I am missing.
Appreciate any thoughts….thanks!

Last summer we flew the day before on AA & Silver, MIA connecting SJU to EIS and stayed at Lambert's. The next day, we took the late morning ferry to VG. I don't like arriving at my destination at dinner time. We do the return in one day.

We fly Deltas AM flight from JFK with final destination being VG.
We arrive around 12:45 and just use the ferry system. Twice we have used water taxis due to extenuating circumstances (covid, snowstorm) but we opt for ferries all the other times. I always have a few plans in place but we like just getting to VG in one day.
I've always felt that coming from NY we are quite lucky. I'm 1.5 hours from JFK and it's a long day but making multiple stops/connections/flights (routing thru San Juan and EIS) just feels like asking for complications. One and done, I say.

Cape air code shares with Jet Blue, which was a lot less expensive than booking them separately. Still $3800 for 2 pax in March (10-19). I used some Capital One miles to save a bunch.

Have you looked at the nonstop AA flight from AA to EIS? Not sure if it's running when you plan to travel, and I hear it's pretty pricey, but might be worth a look.

If you get to St. Thomas, you can also charter a private plane through Island Birds and fly directly to Virgin Gorda. Bit more expensive obviously, but it's not outrageous and a really cool experience.

We flew SJU to EIS, and Speedy’s ferry to The Valley was good times, reasonable and a good ride. They have a free shuttle bus from the airport to the dock although the walk is good unless you have a lot of baggage. Enjoy.
