Sunday is our day to have quiche for La Suchriere. The quiche Loraine is my favorite, and it did not disappoint. As with most days we spent most of our time reading at the pool. For us at home Sunday is always pizza night. We got salads and 3 pizzas from Isola. They were just as good as we remembered.
I was raining on Monday when we got up but by the time we were ready to go down to the pool it was getting sunny. By afternoon the sky was cloudless. We headed to Bar Code for dinner. It was almost empty when we got there but by the time we left it was jumping! Three great meals: Tuna Tartare, General Tso’s Chicken and Chili.
Tuesday was a lazy day at the pool. For happy hour on the balcony John fixed vegetable crostini and a charcuterie platter. For dinner I made salmon with a Thai sweet chili glaze and coconut lime rice. Late in the afternoon the wind died, and the sea became smooth as a pone. Beautiful!
Wednesday we went to Marigot to wander around the market. A few purchases were made. Dinner was at Bistrot Caraibes for dinner. Wonderful as always! Appetizers were the Seared Tuna over Seaweed, the Endive, Blue Cheese Salad. Entrees were a Filet Mignon, Lobster Thermador and Veal Scaloppini gratineed with Blue Cheese. For dessert shared a Molten Chocolate cate. Delightful! They were REALLY busy and said it’s been like this for some time.
Very quiet Thursday. Pool, balcony and leftovers. Had a good rain about 4:30. Lasted maybe 30 minutes. The wind was out of the West today, very unusual. This mean most of the planes took off the “wrong way” over the beach so they could head into the wind. Nice relaxing day.
Friday, after appetizers on the balcony we ventured to the Greenhouse for dinner. We loved our Bang Band Shrimp and Chicken wraps. The atmosphere and service not so much. Saturday we were up at the crack of dawn to take out friend to the airport for her trek home. After a relaxing day at the pool we invited a couple to our balcony for drinks and appetizers. Had a really nice time.
The winds this week continue to be very gentle and Saba has been clearly visible.
