Hello. Haven't been to the island since 2019. We stayed at BSV, which was very nice, but was wondering if the units have been updated or remodeled since then? I believe they rebuilt fairly quickly after the hurricane. TY.

Since 2019, no big remodels. They have replaced the tile in many of the units, replaced some countertops, etc. The huge remodel--enclosing the atrium area and adding a/c to the main room, was done before then. No stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, those kinds of things. Still heaven to me.

Thanks Carol. We only stayed there once and loved it. I remember there being not really cabinet doors, just white painted plywood.....Was just wondering.

If you're talking about in the kitchen, the cabinets are painted white, yes, but they are cabinets, not white painted plywood. Not the fanciest cabinets on earth, but cabinets. Here is a picture of the kitchen cabinets as of June 2022.

Awe. So cute. Definitely not what our kitchen looked like. Thanks for the update!

How long since you stayed at BSV? I'm wondering if you are confusing BSV with someplace else, because the kitchen looks pretty similar to what it did in 2009, which is the first year we went. The countertops were tile then, and they put in the bar between the kitchen and the dining area when they took out the atrium. Otherwise, it looked very similar to what it does now. This is a picture from our first trip to BSV in 2009.

Carol see the nice new countertop. Which unit was that?

Yes it does look the same. I'm assuming there was damage from the hurricane and our unit just had some "temporary fixes",

Mia--could be, I don't know. Irma was 2017, but after our stay that year. We were there in 2018 and 2019 and the kitchen was basically the same as 2009. We were in #13 in 2018 and #12 in 2019. Regardless, if you go now, the kitchen will be roughly the same as the 2009 picture or 2022, depending on whether the countertops have been re-done or not.

RonDon--That was #13.

Thank you, Carol. I hope we get a unit like that closer to the pool because I'm having a bit of trouble with my hip and walking distances.
The only complaint I had about BSV was the tile countertop; always felt I'd break something atop it and hated the uneven surface.

Tile countertops are not optimal and very difficult to clean, for sure. I don't really know if they have replaced all of them yet or not.

All the units I have been in have had the tile countertops in kitchen and bathroom. They seem to start updating and replacing things in the units closer to the pool instead of starting at #1 and going onwards.

That could be. As far as the bathrooms, the last unit I was in, they had replaced the bathtub, but the countertops in the bathroom were still tile.
