This message is now posted on the Caravanseraitimeshareowners facebook page. Thank the stars there wasn't more damage on the island than what we are hearing although no one still knows in what shape the Caravanserai is in. We are running out of time with only two weeks to go. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/duh.gif" alt="" /> Are we all joining forces to fight this multimillionaire owner who happens to live in Syosset, Long Island? (To any timeshare owner who is from New Jersey/New York/Connecticut/Massachusetts corridor: WE are his neighbors up here.) Alegria adding insult to injury for people who have already paid for their forthcoming 2014 or 2015 trips to SXM… From Alegria Hotel cbrscotland@gmail.comDate: October 12, 2014 at 5:17:51 PM EDT To: Undisclosed-recipients Subject: Automatic message: Are you a former timeshare owner of The Caravanserai Beach Resort? Dated: October 01, 2014 Hello, Please note that if you are a former timeshare owner of The Caravanserai Beach Resort making a reservation for 2014 and 2015 will be the 3rd step in receiving confirmation: 1) Forward your signed agreement to Alegria along with the requested documents before Nov. 01, 2014 2) Pay your maintenance fee to Alegria 3) Notify Alegria that you are coming for your week and your unit as there can be no switches. Important: If you hold a confirmation for Caravanserai from RCI please refer back to RCI as Alegria is not associated with RCI. Any changes that was made by Caravanserai for any bookings or maintenance fees cannot be refunded by Alegria. These payments will have to be made to Alegria in order to confirm any future reservation. Email: alegriaoperations@outlook.comFax: + 1-721-545-4101 Phone: + 1-721-545-4000

Interesting, it is dated 10/1/14 but you did not get it until 10/12//14..... Was it email or paper? I am assuming it was email from you note, just making sure?
Today is 10/14 5o did you actually get it? Or is this just a post that you read on facebook? Not disputing it, just want the timeline and actually communications.
Has anybody else receive by paper or email this new note?

Eric,
This was posted on the Caravanserai Timeshare Owners (facebook/Jeff Berger) page yesterday. It was dated 10/1 but appears to have just been sent out on 10/12.
I have been monitoring the page since it started a little over a week ago. Not really anything new there.

When I read this it looks like Alegria is trying to make an effort to accommodate the timeshare owners with week/unit owned when they really don't have to as it was bought through a foreclosure/auction. As far as the date on the document, they could have composed it on that date and it finally got out later or the 2 was missing from the 12.

Yes it is possible that they left off the "2", but seems that they would be better than that. An over 10 day difference in composition and email, is not realistic for a major organization. But mistakes happen all of the time. Or maybe somebody did not just pay attention, but that would almost sound worse?
Just seemed odd to me on first reading.

It was posted on the TimeShareOwners Facebook page like I mentioned, and I copied/pasted the message to TTOL. Not really an email, and I apologize to everyone for saying that; not true.
But this has really turned into a mess - deeded and non-deeded; RCI members and non-RCI members (like we are); and those who have already paid their 2014 maint. fees because they planned to use their week(s) in October, November, and December. So now they should pay a second time, this time to Alegria? Not to mention that there are a lot of folks who have already purchased air travel. And, we can't forget those owners who decided NOT to buy/upgrade into the timeshare building (building C). So, they were given a timeshare unit in building D, one of the two buildings which are still just a concrete shell. Those owners lose, too.
As you can tell I am extremely annoyed.

As you can tell I am extremely annoyed. Thanks for the clarification, and yes, you have the right to be "extremely annoyed", so do not take my question as dimissing you at all. Just trying to stay on top of a fluid and crazy situation the best we can. People are so concerned and "annoyed" and rightfully so, just trying to make sure everybody is on the same page. As I said, just seemed odd at the first reading. Hopefully no offense was taken?

Absolutely no offense at all, Eric.
There are random people posting, mostly owners I think. But we've never organized ourselves and it's doubtful there's a master list of owner names/email addresses. On Facebook, search: caravanseraitimeshareowners
and the page will populate.

One has to have a facebook account to access anything on facebook. Believe it or not, not everyone has a facebook account.
