Looking to use RCI week for a 2 or 3 BR villa at this property on St John in the summer of 2016. Would appreciate any feedback on the property. Also, would greatly appreciate advise as to working with RCI to get this reservation on the books. As background, my parents have had an RCI account (for property in Myrtle Beach) for about 20 years and their two weeks are July 4th and Christmas which I believe are considered prime. Thanks.

We use Interval, if it's similar, don't hold your breath. The property is prime time anytime of the year but hurricane season. Also, I believe the Westin is a Starwood property and their guest get first dibs. We put in 6 requests for STT and STJ 6 months in advance with a month window, never got a response. However Palm Springs in the summer is wide open.

I have heard that it is very difficult to get in there, especially in the summer, as it is a favorite spot for weddings.

The property is in the middle of a 50 million dollar renovation. It should be very nice by summer 2016!

We stayed there a number of years ago (its actually what led to our first charter). friends have a timeshare and love it. Property is nice and the pool is great. Beach is ok - water is super salty and not really clear. We only used the onsite beach once and took the rental car to a different beach every day.

If we didn't have a boat in charter, I'm sure we would have gone with our friends a few times since then. Our upcoming trip, we'll be staying in Great Cruz Bay and visiting them that night and then meeting them at Skinny legs the following night. I'll report back on the Westin after the trip (week before Thanksgiving).

We got a trade through RCI at this resort. We got a 3 br villa for my husband and me. Private pool.
Grill etc.
Lovely. Our trade value was very strong. We owned a lock off unit in Mykonos 3rd week of August. That is super prime.
Beach at Westin is man made I believe. We didn't use it.
Went to other beaches.
Also traded to another property in St John, Sunset Ridge Villas. That was quite a hike.
Good luck.
