It seems the winds have shifted or something, but in the last few days a lot of sargassum has started coming in. Looking to the northeast today there are patches of it everywhere.

It is as bad right now on the north shore of Anegada as it was last August - and this is only January!

In November Smugger's Cove was loaded with the stuff driven by those east winds.I have never seen that before nor had bar owners Patricia and Bushman..but they cleaned it up!

Took a little dinghy journey into Eustacia Sound. East shore of Prickly has 3-4 foot deep sargassum covering the beach with more coming in - crazy for this time of year.

It must be a nightmare keeping generators and a/c units running with the amount of sargassum in the water. I've never known it to be like that during Jan, Feb, or March. Maybe the stars will align and we will have none for our trip in June!! smile

Sid's is clean as a whistle - beach faces southwest.

Thanks DF! Anchored off Sid’s now. Glorious. Went in for lobster and conch tacos (superb as usual) for lunch and back again for dinner. 🌴

@MKGrey - The intakes for the generator, AC and engine are usually far enough below the waterline to be clear of sargassum.

At the bar. Were you at the two-top just behind us?

No - lol, we were at a 2 top on the edge of the outside platform closest to the beach. The two behind you were a nice couple we met at BEYC earlier in the week.
