Challenging day yesterday diagnosing electrical issues and then losing the starboard engine for half the day. Grabbing the ball was fun! Moorings did come out to assist us twice. Engine fuel line had to be bled and the electrical issue was sorted also. RumRunner came to visit us at the Bitter End which made my day. Looking forward to Anegada today, can anyone give me a first hand idea of how busy it is up there right now? We saw very few boats sailing yesterday as we sailed from Trellis to VG, winds were 25 and quite a bit of wave action.

Not busy today. The ground seas and northeast wind are keeping the pretend sailors away.

If you have been having boat issues why would you make that trek?

Perhaps, like Fritz Seyfarth, he doesn't need an engine!

All fixed - engine fuel line bled, watermaker’s filter changed and electrical all sorted. Had we not had everything fixed we were going to cancel. Hopefully we have run through all the issues on this 50.

If a boat has issues I would be wary. Remember - they don’t travel up there to bail you out of trouble. You absolutely DO NOT want issues going in and out of the channel. I’d be staying “local” - and I am an owner (but not in that fleet…..)

Hello all, we had a fantastic sail today and got into Anegada on the ball at 4pm. It is not very busy up here, many balls unused. We took 2 BB and one white ball. While a couple of you advised against going from your pov, we are experienced sailors from a club and have been here before.

What 50 are you on? I would not exactly call sailing to Anegada a trek. We have sailed to Anegada and hit cow wreck for lunch and then back to the airport to pick up a late arrival. I did a entire week on a Cat once with only one engine and 50 weeks plus on monohulls with only one motor. I can’t see anything wrong with going to Anegada.

We were up there on Thursday and Friday night last week. First time in years. Easy sail in fair winds up and back and we really enjoyed sailing in the "Anegada Regatta."

Fabulous visit! And thanks to suggestions we got from you all in a prior post, we had dinner at ARH the first night and at Sid's the second. Sid's especially was a memorable experience. Wonderful ambience, good food and delightful server.

At Flash of Beauty, we walked way East down the beach and had a long down-current snorkel. Loved it.

Good for you...enjoy

There is always something wrong with a boat...the only question is whether you know it or not yet.

sorry to hear you had to use a BB...LOL

Very true Bailu, after testing everything thoroughly with two different mechanics, we were confident it would be fine. Plus we have 2 other Moorings 5000s with us. We moved over to a regular ball for tonight. Anegada was gorgeous today! Snorkeling wasn’t very clear due to the swell, but the beaches were perfect.

Shifty - so glad you enjoyed Sid’s. It has become our favorite Anegada spot. We’re in on our new boat for almost three week’s starting Friday. Looking forward to being back - it’s been too long.
