Hello all,,been a while. lol Wondering if anyone has recently stayed at the newly renovated Royal Palm Beach Resort in Simpson Bay?
Just got a hit for an exchange there at end of March 2023 for a 2 bedroom and trying to find out what the units are like. Are there still 2 bathrooms in the 2 bedrooms? Also says it sleeps 6, so wondering and assuming there must be a sofa bed in living room area? We have not been able to travel to SXM re Covid, same as many people so havent been able to check this out. Thanks for any responses in advance

Hello megamania you asked your question at a perfect time. We currently staying at the Royal Palm 🌴 in a 2 bedroom unit and yes there are 2 bathrooms and a sofa bed in the living room. There are 3 TV's and a well appointed kitchen with a dishwasher and more cupboards than you can fill. If you asked me for any complaints I would say I don't have any. If you have any more questions feel free to ask.

Hello Local Sailor....thanks so much for the info. Just curious, I have one question, do you think the sofa bed is comfy for a couple....Mind you we don't spend much time in condo sleeping, lol
Cant wait to go back. If we can find flights out of toronto at end of March, we are set. Thanks again, hope you had fun.

I have never found a sofa bed to be comfortable anywhere. Especially in a rental or timeshare. Good luck with that. Just be happy your in SXM.

I don't know if the sofa bed is comfortable for a couple but I can say I fell asleep on the sofa one night laugh. As far as flights out of Toronto the end of March you have plenty of choices Air Canada, West Jet, Sunwing and Air Transat should be flying then. As a matter of fact we are on one the end of March.

Hi there.
Well, it appears that March 31-April 7, we can not find one flight without 2 stops and the prices are wayyyyy high.....like 11 hours and pay well over 1200.00! I was able to find a sunwing flight, from March 30-April 6, which would work if we had to. Just have to find accomodation for one night (march 30) and then move into RP on March 31,,,our stay there is through an RCI exchange that has been paid for a long time ago and will expire end of May if we dont use it. The travel agent tells me that a lot of airlines are not flying from Ontario to SXM as much as there was just not the demand?? Maybe because most do not do a package, like All inclusive? I know there is a small hotel very close to Royal Palm near the liquor store, but for the life of me I cannot remember the name of it.....any suggestions for a one night stay on March 30, if we have to take the flight and arrive a night prior to our reserved stay at Royal Palm (March 31-April 7)
Guess the entire Covid situation has backed up travellers and now everyone is moving....

Hi, Meg,
Don’t forget to check with RP to see if they have a single night available. We used to do that often when we depended on using our timeshare and often, we’d even be given a reduced rate on the extra night.

Respectfully,

pat

Hi Pat.
Thanks for the tip!! Still working on unbelievable flight prices and availability. Like Air transat only flies in and out on Sundays now....they used to have way more flights avail....about the same with other carriers....not sure what happened, but I do believe Covid has screwed things up, lol Meg
