We have a trip planned for returning home in June. If we want to stay 9 nights we have to fly back on June 1; we want to stay 10 nights but that would require flying with 2 diff airlines from eis to sju using Intercaribbean then sju to tampa using frontier ($912 2ppl). If we only stay 9 nights it would be AA from EIS to Tampa via Miami ($992 2ppl). Would you risk doing the 2 flights with 2 diff airlines to be able to say 1 more night or just be sad and leave a day early to use the same airline all the way through. I've been told to stay away from Intercaribbean but not told why. Are they as bad as Liat?

Well, you might end up staying 11 nights if you take the SJU route. The reason IC and other regional carriers have a bit of a bad rep is, at least partly, bc they tend to cancel flights. I've done it a number of times and have had good luck. Others have not been as lucky. Its nice to fly in and out of EIS and skip STT airport and the ferry services. The new AA route EIS-MIA is a potential game changer. Fingers crossed it plays out with minimal hiccups.

yea we just agreed on leaving from STT with Jet Blue I have some credit with them doesn't leave until 5:50 and gets in to Tampa at midnight but we'll deal with it gives us all day to get to STT so that's good. Still stops in SJU though . ... . .

Sounds like its too late now, but there is an AA flight at 3:00pm that gets into Tampa at around 830 with a stop in MIA.

Or, better yet, AA 230pm EIS-MIA-TPA arriving TPA at 8:35pm. You avoid the side trip to STT which will save you hassle and at least $100pp.

yes I saw that AA flight we have to fly out on June 2 AA was $1172 2ppl ow. vs. Jet blue with some credit I had at $662 and then yes $200 or so for ferry. I had to use the credit, though. AA flights from Miami in the future seem like they are going to be very convenient but probably cost prohibitive for some ppl. That is a shame about Intercaribbean seemed liked they had reasonable fares and good times, but yes if people are comparing them to LIAT then no way. Anyway looking forward to 5 days in Anegada and 5 not sure yet . . . .
