Elizabeth--I suspect he migrated over from the former El Zafiro. There used to be a TON of them there at El Z, but with no restaurant there anymore, they probably moved on. I'm not a big fan of them, as they are so LARGE. We have a ton of geckos here, but they are a little smaller..
In July, Divi Little Bay was taken over by these guys. You couldn't sit at the Infinity Pool without being surrounded. One or two, not an issue but when they bring their friends and it's a group of 20, it gets a little overwhelming. I'm with you Carol -- we have a lot of the tiny tots here in Florida too!
crsxm--I wouldn't like that either. As I said, they used to have a TON of them out front at El Z. I am not certain what they did with them, but I have seen the workers at Beachside snag iguanas before. Iguana soup?? Dunno.

I've had iguana once, and it's more like a less flavored chopped, unboned chicken wing and eating it. The bones get in the way of the meat. Manacou (possum) is much tastier
