It sounds like a wonderful event. Wish we were going to be on island then!

3 of the places (L'Atelier, Le Cottage & Maison Mere) that we went to last week were featuring plantain dishes (this year's special ingredient). They all had a very different take on it and each dish we tried was delicious!

Enor the chef from Le String won the beach bar group. I will try to send a picture of the dish when my tech expert(wife) can help.

The results were in a story in the Daily Herald today, but no pictures of food, so would love to see those pictures!
Link Interesting that the finale judging is truly going to be "blind", as in, the judges will not be able to SEE the dishes!

Any food photos? I'd love to be a judge there!

Attached are the before and after pictures of the Le String winning dish. It was a Mahi protein-based dish. Someone took a pite before the picture was taken. Also the camera lens was sand covered.

I hate that when the lens gets covered by sand!
Looks like there was a good reason why the dish won, as it was apparently delicious! Looks like someone licked the plate clean!

Being a blind tasting eliminates the artistic value of the plated food that many chefs pride themselves with.

I thought it was interesting. We watch a lot of food competitions on TV and usually the idea of "blind" taste testing is a little different!

Actually, I didn't. The day I was planning to go, I just didn't feel like being in a crowd of people. So I vegged on the beach at The Toad. Sorry.

Sorry for YOU, that you weren't able to go. You have had some disappointments, the past couple trips.
