Sitting here reading on a beautifully bright and sunny morning when out of the blue, a freaky rain squall came through. The waves are rolling again and I can barely see the ocean water from our deck due to the rainfall………seems to me, this was how our trip began this year and I do hope it isn’t going to end in like fashion but if it does, I guess that’s life!

And now, ten minutes later, it’s gorgeous again.

Aha! Victory at last! We were on a mission this morning to finally find Monique and we did. Since we saw her last in April she hasn’t changed one bit but has traveled a whole bunch more miles to more awesome destinations. Our search for her caused us to try another place we’d always meant to try but never had - Lagoonies. We went late for breakfast (or early for lunch?) so we settled on brunch. Different from the Yacht Club but equally nice in its own way. No bridge openings or moving megayacht sitings but yachts moored all over the place. I’m not certain moored is the right terminology but you get my drift I’m sure, and they’re from all over the world, but even more up close and personal. It was a new island perspective for us but we were easily able to pick out the Royal Palm, Simpson Bay Yacht Club (I think that’s the right name……..) and Port de Plaisance. They all looked so very different from our normal viewing perspectives when seen from this new location. And there was no vehicle noise and/or car horns beeping which makes for a far more relaxing meal.

Spent some time back at BSV chatting with friends and then, nappy time.

Dinner was with friends at Skip Jacks again. We laughed and visited and it was a perfect dinner, right up to the second downpour of the evening when the staff had to close the weather drapes. Food was yummy and the company was great. By the time we got home, Whitesands Lake had once again gone over its banks but a very slow passage and all was good.

Respectfully,

pat

Lagoonies use to be our go-to Pat for fish and chips they really made it good, We’ve only been back a few times since new owners took over and that was just for cocktails.

Our last full day wasn’t a beach day no sun and rain on and off but we made the best of it as I’m sure you and John will

We haven't been to Lagoonies in a couple trips but certainly will make the stop this trip to see Monique, good to have a new reason! Enjoy Pat and thank you for warming up the island for us, we start our journey Wednesday with a couple nights on Anguilla so almost getting to time to pack or even think about it! Have a great rest of the trip!

I prefer the Isle seat

We absolutely loved our stays on AXA though they were a few years ago now. Personally speaking and I hope none of our friends and fellow SXM lovers take offense, I think the AXA beaches are even nicer than most of the ones on SXM but the logistics suck. And the nightlife just isn’t there if that’s important to you. To us, not so much.
Wishing you good flights and fun travels. And an awesome time on both islands. Happy Turkey day!
