Saturday we had a very exhausting day doing absolutely nothing. Coffee-and on our patio and then tried to decide what to do. Debated and contemplated various options and before we knew it, lunchtime was upon us.

Oh dear - what’s a mother to do? Too many options and I hate making decisions. Fat Tony’s, Sand Bar, Bar Code and all the many Simpson Bay possibilities. After much deliberation we ended up at Bar Code where I enjoyed an awesome Mahi mahi burger served with their home cut fries. Omg! Were they delicious. DH had a cheeseburger and another variety of house made French Fries which were almost as good as mine. Washed lunch down with a Choco Colada for dessert. So very good. Did a few errands and headed back to the hacienda and before we knew it, it was dinner time and time for more decisions. After much debate the decision was we decided we didn’t need dinner as such but around 8:30 we each had a dish of Etna Rhum raisin ice cream.

Much better than dinner.

Sunday and a picture perfect island day. The waves are still cresting to the beach here at BSV and there was a little seaweed out there but by the time we actually got our sorry butts out of bed this morning the staff here had the beach raked to pristine perfection. Coffee-and in again - I do so love having a full kitchen and not having to go out all the time. So far I think we’ve been on island 13 mornings and we’ve only done breakfast out twice and lunch not many more times but it’s all been good and by personal choice.

After our showers we headed to Mark’s Place to meet friends for lunch. Our meals ranged from a seafood pasta to lasagne to mussels w/frites, to chicken. We had the mussels after saying in the car I wouldn’t but there’s that decision thing again. We were a diverse group of ten with different choices and our waitperson handled it all beautifully, seperate check per person or couple. I can’t speak for anyone else but our entrees were delicious and very reasonably priced with no built-in service charge which equates to better tips for the staff in my opinion. And OMG! Their mussels are delicious!

Lunch was fun - got to spend a little time with people I’ve known of for years but never really got to know. We exchanged thoughts and ideas along with island experiences and of course, I think we all shared a little island gossip, too, along with our island likes and dislikes and experiences. Such a nice way to spend some island time.

Back to our home away from home. DH is napping and probably thinking about dinner and dessert. More decisions. Or not? Ice cream is always good. 😉😉

And even after all those mussels at lunch we did do dinner after all - Spaghetti House at Jordan Village. Very quiet up on the hill but it is Sunday night and people are probably resting up for work on Monday. John had their beef lasagne and I had a fettuccine with shrimp and mushrooms. Brought home future reheats but DH still found room for profiteroles while I stuck with lemoncello (3_ yikes!) so it’s soon to lalaland for me, for sure!

Respectfully,

pat

Ty……it was nice to spend some time with old friends and at the same time, hopefully make some new ones. 🙂🙂

Sounds like a couple of good days. Tough to beat Mark's Place.

Nice couple of days Pat!

We ate out way too much this past trip.

After 5 or so days of eating out for lunch and dinner, there’s nothing like having snacks (or ice cream in your case) on the patio!
