If your looking for a smaller hotel on a great beach try Mary's Boon or Horney toad (guesthouse) maybe. Both have great beaches on Simpson Bay , Mary's Boon is more full service hotel with nice restaurant and bar.

Neither MB or Horny Toad are very walkable at NIGHT to places to eat, etc. Agree with Islandgem's list of places, as being more walkable at night to various places.

Smack dab in the middle of all the restaurants, right on Airport Rd. is Liberty Inn. Decks back up to the lagoon. The Taste Factory is right down below, and the Market Garden is across the street.

I don't know anything about Liberty Inn, but the location would certainly be perfect for a couple of nights without a vehicle. Easy to walk to lots of great places, and right on the lagoon, as was mentioned.
We own at LaVista Beach and love it there, but I'd be surprised if you could get two nights there during your timeframe.

Does La Vista have a site that shows Units for rent by owners?

Not that I know of, and I'm an owner. Sint Maarten Rental Weeks is Ray Minelli's old site, and I think Jackie is still maintaining it. There are a number of La Vista listings there.

Turquoise Shell Inn is a simple walk out the gate and about 10 steps across a small road to Simpson Bay Beach. They do have beach chairs available for guests.
Next SXM visit -November 2023. Also January 2024.

Turquoise Shell Inn is at the opposite end of Simpson Bay Beach from Karakters. T Shell is closer to the McDonald's and the boat entrance to Simpson Bay Lagoon. I usually walk to Karakters when walking the beach.

Sing, Go to WIOL.com. put in your date. There are a few places near the airport that will take a one night reservation (Mary's Boon, Sapphire) but not for long. As the high season approaches, they will all require a 2 night minimum. We have used WIOL often without any problems.

You could always contact Jackie at Sintmaartenrentalweeks.com and see if she has any rentals available.

I always stay at Azure for my extra nights. It's next door to Horny Toad directly on the beach with chairs and umbrellas

Hi Becky, would you recommend Azure for a week? We can get into BSV, all but 1 night...AZURE for all nights...? Love BSV, but will need 1st night elsewhere.

I don't think there's anything else in the area that's quite like BSV (or as nice, either....) but there is the little boutique hotel next door - El Zafiro. I don't know what their rental policies are and I know nothing about their rates. I really like Mary's Boon and would consider it for a full week but in all honesty, if it were me, I think I'd either do BSV for six nights and call it a trip or I'd consider the place that could give me seven consecutive nights instead of packing everything up and moving for just one night. This is a pain in the butt and a waste of time, IMHO. We did it once because our flight was cancelled and in the end we gained maybe 2-3 actual beach hours so we might just as well have shortened the trip and saved the expense of the seventh night elsewhere.
Respectfully,

The beach is lovely at Azure, but the units do not compare to Beachside Villas. You would be better to go with BSV and stay your last night at another location.

Getting here late but for two nights why don't you head to Grand Case and get a different vibe.

I'm not looking for accommodation. I think your advice is directed to sing beach and not me.

I agree with travelhat to try Grand Case fora different "vibe". Check Love Hotel for a couple of nights. Right on the beach, walk to many restaurants and the LOLO's.

I'm afraid, once again, I've stirred confusion, as I replied to an older saved post. I was trying to get info on Azure v. BSV, and at the same time find out a recommendation for our 1st night. Only 7 night trip and I know moving is a pita, but hate to give up a day! Just hoping I can get one night. Having stayed at BSV, I'm nervous to stay at Azure for the entire week! I do rely heavily on TTOL experience...thank you.

We use Turquoise Shell Inn(info@tshellinn.com)on just about every trip where we want an extra couple days. Walkable to many restaurants. Close to airport. Steps off Simpson Bay Beach. Carter is an excellent host.

It's a little down the beach, past Mary's Boon and not ON the beach, and does not have a view like at BSV..

Hi Carol -- yes, but for just the 1st night...I think it will be fine! Consider it my waiting line to get into "BSV!" thanks...

Liberty Inn Is only doing long term rentals. We tried to book in the spring for summer and owner told my husband only long term rentals. Don't know what they consider long term but daily and weekly rentals are no more there
