Just want to give a big shout out to those folks at the airports (SXM and JFK) who assist passengers with mobility issues. Upon arriving in SXM two weeks ago, my wife had difficulty getting down the plane stairs. Mid way, a young man came up the stairs.to grab my carry-ons while I helped my wife. She was immediately offered a wheelchair by two different people but was able to walk to the terminal. Another gentleman saw her walking slowly and said "Come with me". He escorted us into the wheelchair entrance and ushered us through the entry process.
For the return trip home I requested a wheelchair for my wife upon arrival at the airport. and was professionally assisted by a very kind and attentive young man until boarding the flight. We were met at JFK with another wheelchair and the experience was just as pleasant and efficient.
For anyone requiring assistance I highly recommend the services provided.

Joe--Never used a wheelchair at JFK, but the folks at SXM are VERY helpful and courteous, that's for sure.

I’m fairly new to the use of airport wheelchair portage but I have to say, the service in SXM has been extraordinary each time we’ve used it. In MIA it was the pits the only time we used it there and CLT has been spotty. JFK and LGA were both okay and EWR was okay once we actually found it (or they found us…..) but again, SXM has been extraordinary each time we’ve used it, both arriving and departing. Kudos to the people who provide the service there.
Respectfully,
pat

Miami is MUCH further than that. Eric has remarked that he has a very hard time keeping up with the wheelchair person there sometimes.
