Just arrived yesterday and it is the most gorgeous morning!
We have not been here since Irma so have questions...
1 - Where to go for the best lobster
2 - Where to go for the best pizza
3 - Staying at Simpson Bay our first week. How much should we tip the guy who sets out our chair?
So, so happy to be back!!!

"Best" is always a matter of personal opinion but we think that Bistrot Caribres in Gran Case has the best lobster, esp. Thermador. We Love the Pizza a Isola at Simpson Bay Resort. I'd say a few bucks for the chair guy.

I'll second Leagle49 Isola pick for pizza. My favorite is the Hollywood.

It’s pretty hard to beat having lobster while relaxing on Pinel Island

Our go-to pizza spot is Fat Tony’s at Jordan Village and grilled lobster would be at Lee’s or Skip Jacks. Best to check ahead on prices and/ or availability: 😊😊

Respectfully,

pat

I would suggest the pizza at Isola as well.

Lots of options for lobster, it just depends on your preference as to how you want it prepared.

On the lobster, Two that wife loves, Pineapple Pete's ( love his service and Pierre a great guy!) and Skipjacks. Have to check the special board before booking a table. From the NYC area, I give Driftwood high marks for there pizza!! Anyone remember the old Dodge truck and old rowboat-bar?? When ordering a large pie, get a free drink! Back in the day! I still say that those gal's make the best island drinks!! Oh and there infused olive oils are amazing!

I know you’re in Simpson Bay this week but if you find yourself on the French side in need of a pizza fix….Papadan’s is our favorite! Thin firm crust with just the right amount of char on the bottom and edges. They’re in the Leader Price shopping center in Mount Vernon on the second level.

I'll second the Driftwood for their pizza ... and yes, I remember the old truck and rowboat bar very well. Somehow missed out on getting a free drink, though!

We're traveling there in a few weeks for the first time. A friend of my wife's travels there often and recommends the pizza at Ciao Bella's in Grand Case. Has anyone else had their pizza and if so, what was your impression?

Try the pizza at Orange Fever on Orient beach. One of the best.

Had lunch two days ago at Driftwood Boat Bar and looked over the food at neighboring tables.
Burgers, rib platters all looked good.

The pizza next to us looked like a pre-formed pizza shell.
I think with the major increase in business they do not make their own pizzas any more

Going back about 10 years we told the pizza lady how to make a stuffed crust.

Not sure if we will be back for pizza as we already have Pizza Italy and Isola lined up for pizza
