What is the minimum time needed to connect to a flight going through SJU with carry-on bags? Flying Sunday, November 6. EIS-SJU-ATL

Same ticket or separate tickets? Even with same tickets, you often have to go out of the secured area and check in again, at least that has been our experience. You also have to go through Immigration, Customs and Agriculture. Do you have Global Entry? Weekends are worse than weekdays; time of day matters. Two hours should be plenty; one might be enough.

Same ticket al the way through. Delta canceled our connection and placed us on an earlier flight that takes off before our other flight lands. We have several options. Silver 12:00, Cape Air 12:45 and 1:45. The 1:45 gives us about 1:15 minutes for the transfer. Just trying to not have to rush to return the boat Sunday morning. No global entry. If that would help, I may get that.

We have transited through SJU twice in the past 2 months. In both cases, we were on single tickets with JetBlue. We have global entry, but it did not help either time as there was essentially no line at customs & immigration. As mentioned, we were forced out of the secured area, and required to clear security again. TSA pre was helpful in getting back through security quickly.
A word of caution regarding the tight connections however.......both of our Silver codeshare flights were extremely late departing EIS. An hour might be enough time to make the connection if everything goes smoothly. That said, there have been far too many travel issues lately for me to feel comfortable with that tight a connection. Understanding the desire not to have to return the boat super early, I would still opt for the earlier EIS departure to afford you more time in SJU. Just my humble opinion.

If you missed your Delta flight, do they have a later one? I guess I would risk the 1 hr. 15 minute connection. Global Entry should get you pre-check, which is often a faster security line. Not sure if they still have the Business Class line.

I am watching the 3pm EIS-SJU as I will be on this with my family on Aug 25 https://flightaware.com/live/flight/JBU5501/history/20220810/1805Z/TJSJ/TUPJSilver Air - codeshare B6, connecting to B6 SJU-JFK We all have global entry as well. I wonder how the connecting boarding passes will be printed if we have to exit the secured area and go back through pre-check? Unfortunately JetBlue will not give me free checked bags (jetblue Barclays card) as usual because it's a codeshare. BUT will jetblue share TTN/Global Entry with Silver - it's all in the reservation? jetBlue doesn't seem to know. Let's hope the flight leaves close to scheduled time?

Our experience has been that we always pay for bags leaving Beef, even when they are free coming in. In our experience, Cape Air is pretty good at leaving on time (or early). It also means a much shorter line at Immigration. Agree that those are usually very short, unless you're unlucky and there's a big plane from a foreign country.
Even when they print your connecting boarding passes at Beef, they always reprint them in San Juan.

Carpeperdiem, as RatmansWife mentions, Silver printed our boarding passes for our SJU-MCO flight when we checked in at EIS. That's always been our experience. To me, the two time critical issues are:
1) Does Silver leave on time from EIS (since COVID, we are 0 for 4) 2) How busy is the security line at SJU (earlier this summer it was ugly......even mid-week)
Good luck to you, and have a great trip!

We went ahead and changed the flight to 12:46 Cape Air to STT. 2.5 hrs layover. We were trying to prevent the STT circus, but if all goes as planned we get home 4 hours earlier. We had to compromise. And we did build in an extra day for any problems.

We transited SJU yesterday. Silver Air (JetBlue codeshare) EIS-SJU 3:10pm left on time. plane (Saab turbofan) must have been built in the 1970s no air conditioning. ugh.
they forced our "plane check" carryon to the baggage carousel in SJU, for customs inspection.
My entire family has global entry -- it took longer to use global entry kiosk vs. just going to an immigration officer. BUT -- it was almost instant. Gave passport and GE printout to officer, "do you have any produce?" Off we went...
WHERE IS THE bag drop to send transiting checked bags to final destination? No longer.
SO we had to lug our stuff to the main terminal -- and JetBlue is in TermA. More lugging. Then a short line at FDA, then to Jet Blue.
We had PLENTY of time. Left Nanny Cay 12:30pm, arrived EIS 1pm, checked in by 1:10pm, lunch pre-security. At gate by 2:30pm Boarding at 2:55pm
You can be 100% certain they will not leave without you -- the plane that you fly out on comes directly from SJU. The crew remains on board. They turn this plane around in 10 mins.

Thanks for the update! Our late flight SJU-ATL in November was canceled by Delta. We're flying EIS-STT-ATL in November.

The aircraft has AC. Silver just chooses not to maintain it.
