It's been about 10 years since traveling to SXM, could you update me on any major changes? We have spent most of our time on the Dutch side, traveling over to the French side on occasion. Is it safe to travel at night after 9:00 on the island? I know that the last hurricane did quite a bit of damage. Is the area around Cheri's still a popular place?

It is still popular, but Cheri's is no more. That is referred to generally as the Maho area. George

The Maho area is still a very popular area for visitors, even without Cheri’s although there are many that do miss it. (Count me out on that…..)Lots to do, many excellent places to eat from grab a burger to full out fine dining, clubs with nightly music, pizza and ice cream shops, and even the casino if you’re feeling lucky.
Respectfully,

SunnNC--Lots of changes, all over the island. Hard to recount what all has changed in the past 10 years. What has NOT changed is the wide variety of great places to eat, many great beaches, and the lovely people of SXM. Enjoy!!!
