It is always interesting that vacationers patronizing Beachside Villa's never have a issue with the extensive security camera's at this property ? If a vacationer was to acknowledge the video surveillance they maybe concerned why they are watched by the property owners back in Michigan. It is also alarming why their property manager and his wife happens to show up through out the day real time video happenings of staff and vacationers for DREW back stateside !
After staying at this property for many years we now look forward to better less intrusive vacations than Drew and Trickses Mascarin's intrusive oversee of our every movement while at this property. Any view of the airplanes can be observers without the the Michigan surveillance.
If violation of your vacation is your choice please reserve your vacation at BSV !
Yolanda and Telly were the true spirit of this property and not that of their dysfunctional son DREW ! Seriously Carol Hill report the truth of your stay as did not once mention any of the resort workers by name only by title ? MAID, BEACH SECURITY, or BEACH CLEANER ! Seriously Pat's husband hanging over a fence watching a plane land while rather being at the Towers is a inspiration to stay at BSV is a selling point for this property please be advised if the Towers did not become rubble from tropical storm BSV would not be on there radar.
Boycott this property as the vacation experience is over seen by extensive security cameras and value your time with personal family memories without the Mascrin's video observation of your valued personal time away.
Carol please be honest that you and Eric felt watched while you vacationed at BEACHSIDE VILLA'S ! I am sure with your status on this blog Drew and Trixie followed your every posting on TTOL !
One would bet this will be deleted ASAP.

We and many others love BSV. a beautiful beach is at your door step. All the ammenities are provided for comfort and convenience. The units are well kept , staff is friendly and helpful. Watching the planes land and take off either from the pool deck, beach or Observation deck never gets old. Parking is plentiful, plants, trees and flowers are always bountiful giving the resort a great Caribbean ambience.
The low season prices are very reasonable and extend longer than most resorts. I donāt know what your problem is with Drew and Tracy but go someplace else. We have been staying there since 2008 when Telly and Yolanda owned and ran the resort. Aside from missing them both Drew & Tracy have done a great job running the resort.
We have No issues with cameras that are by the pool and outside a few units on beach and parking area.

Maybe Carol, Eric and RC aren't as dictatorial as others are on other FB sites and let posters speak their minds without censoring posts.

LI,
Just to clarify from my personal perspective, I have absolutely no issue with the security cameras around the Beachside Villas property and in honesty, I appreciate the additional security factor I feel they provide just as I appreciate their evening and nighttime security personnel.
And as far as what might and might not be on our personal radar, we had heard about BSV well before the storm damaged our beloved Towers and we had done extra week stays there prior to Irma and the havoc she wreaked at the Towers. We had already decided if we didnāt own four weeks at Mullet we would have completely jumped ship after our first stay at BSV. and as it was, we had already gotten rid of one of our Towers weeks in excgphange for BSV time prior to Irma. We continue to value our safe and secure time there, now spending our four weeks there each year. The Towers at Mullet Bay and Beachside Villas are two totally different entities, each wonderful in their own way and the added security only makes me feel better about being there.
I donāt know why you take issue with the camera surveillance but if you are truly disturbed by it, thereās an easy solution and we all know what that is. Iām pretty darn certain Drew and Tracy in Michigan and Emanuel and Vicki as well as Beverly, Joan and Smarthie and the rest of the BSV staff all have real lives to live and better things to do than get their jollies by watching the guests all day.
Eagerly awaiting our November 2022 return.
Respectfully,
pat

Maybe it is just my age (Gen Xer) but assuming in a public space you are not being watched and even being captured on video plus posted online is simply naĆÆve. Grow up and step into the 21st century OP.

Laughingirish, I suppose everyone is entitled to their OWN opinions. But to attack someone's integrity, Drew and Tracy's, is not only absurd, but says something about your own. You can't even get Tracy's name correctly. I have been staying there at least a couple of times a year since 1996, except during COVID. I would never ever think of staying anywhere else other than BSV. Then you go on to attack their staff, who are like family to many of us. They go out of their way to make sure every guest is warmly welcomed and make their stay nothing but amazing.
I was not going to even comment on this thread because your comments are so off base and ridiculous that it doesn't deserve one. But for those that may not know BSV, Smarthie, Joannie, Emmanuel, Vicki and Beverly, and of course the entire Mascarin family, you will find some of the best people they are the kindest and loving people you ever want to meet.
So looking forward to the end of October for my next trip there.

I hope you have thick skin!!! You taking shots at the Mascarin family is like taking a shot at all of us!!! I'm thrilled that Drew and Tracy/staff are looking out for our safety!!! wouldn't you be??? We read all the time around the island of people getting broken into, middle of the day!! Some while they are a sleep!! WE sleep peacefully knowning that someone is watching out for us and there is a patrolmen walking the property!! Maybe SXM and BSV aren't for you!!! We really don't want you anyway!!.
Sand Gravity, got to love it!

Fine until the last sentence....when your "wokeness" shone thru......
We all have a right to our OWN thoughts on this subject.

We've never stayed at BSV but we have stayed at Simpson Bay Resort for many years. There are security cameras all over the place there for which I am very grateful. You can scratch SBR of yuor list of potential alternatives.

I have two questions, and then Iāll stay out of this.
1) How do you know that Drew and TRACEY have access to those cameras back in Michigan?
2) So if not BSV for your vacation spot, so where then? I think a lot of us would love to know.

Interesting thread. I was busy last evening and did not see this until this morning.
Other than pointing out the obvious, that there are many errors in your post, factually and in grammar, I have to say that I have always felt thankful for the cameras at BSV, which have been there ever since I remember, including when Yolanda was actively managing the property. Pretty much anywhere you go these days, there are either surveillance cameras or people with their cell phone, recording your every move, if they choose to do so. If cameras at BSV cause you not to stay there anymore, that is your loss.
And with that, will end this silliness once and for all.
