We are in New York visiting children and grandchildren, but tomorrow we begin a new adventure!

Normandy is our destination with a few days in Paris on the way out.
We are going to try to blog real-time on this trip if connectivity allows.
This trip has been a long time bucket list destination and will be a little emotional.
We had always planned to do it with our friend, but that will not be the case.
Hence, the title of Normandy - A trip long overdue.

Follow the link as we visit: The Land of Normans!

We are sitting at JFK waiting to board.
Just an hour or two away from our adventure to begin.

However, to get JFK from Virginia we had a slight detour to Long Island.
Boy did it make it easy traveling this morning and a wonderful weekend with grandchildren.

We awoke late no time to post. In Rouen awaiting our lunch.
I hope it is exciting as the table next to us.

They closed the lid and the entire glass bowl fills with a very fragrant smoke covering the meat and baked cheese.

Pictures later on what I had,

Lovely beginning Tom! I had missed the 'pre-trip' installment, so went back and caught up on that.

Honfleur a beautiful town on the sea.

If you are keeping a bucket list for places to see... Honfleur probably should be added to your list

The Moules look great. Did you have a memorable wine at lunch? The dinner choice was one of my favorites

Did not want to take time away from our visit with friends.

Quick preview of today's adventure.

We are now on the other side of Normandy. Only about 3 km from Omaha beach. The B&B we are staying in was built in the 1300s, and not surprisingly with big brick wall the internet is marginal. I will try to upload the blog, but no promises.

Here is the house we are staying in.

Back online. Internet is spotty. Currently in a beautiful rural setting in a very very old B&B.

But here is Friday the 29th installment - enjoy

Today's blog is really the reason we took this vacation.

Some the text may seem a little personal for a travel blog, but many of our friends who knew and loved Bennie are following along also.

It truly was a great day in small town town in Normandy.

Thanks Beerman - I was wondering if anyone was still out there.
I am slow posting again, but I promise I will take it to the end.

Yes, reading them all as well. Honfleur was the destination for many of my cross-channel sailing trips. Really enjoyed the photos.

I guess with the time change and my schedule I get to read these early in the feed. My feet started to hurt at the 8 mile point. Awesome day. How much longer is the stay?

Thanks for the kind words.

We have one more day of trip and wrap-up post to close this adventure out.
Working on our last day in Paris today. Love to post today because we are going out of town for the weekend.

You got to have a plan to change one typing
Hang in there... there is light at the end of the path
