I hope they actually do it. No reason for this sh*t, when that developer 'promised' that he would have parking for that new restaurant. I don't plan on going there any time in the near future.

It is likely the "promise" of parking was dealt with "under the table". Like "Whale Tail" stated, seeing is believing.

While I did not, and would not , park on the road there I did park on a blocked off road across from the golf course. We then walked over to the new restaurant. It was on a Monday , a couple of weeks ago, and they were closed. Assuming that’s a regular Monday thing. However I have to say it’s impressive. I only stoppped at Dreams once just to see it. This place reminds me of many descriptions, of Dreams, posted here. The owner of Le Piment told me he had been and was very impressed. Person sitting next to me on the plane home said they went several days and loved it. It’s very different from the popular vendors down the way which I absolutely enjoy. It’s another option and the whole vanilla and chocolate thing.

I absolutely ADORED Dreams. I don't object to lovely ambiance and upscale prices, regardless of whether it is on Mullet or not. I DO object to developers who make promises--to repair the boardwalk AND that there would be parking specifically for the restaurant, and then, to not fulfill your promises, because you can get away with it.

Agree with what you just said Carol simple because I worked there way back when it was six hundred rooms plus six restaurants .

Stood there on the golf course trying to figure out where that parking might go. Unless the golf course sells some land you will always have to walk across the golf course to get to the entrance. It could be between 2 holes as opposed to a fairway. FORE!

I have no idea where the parking would go either, but that's the POINT. SXM government cannot just allow developers to continue to build and build and build and not provide for parking, and in this case, not enforce the agreement with government that said they WOULD provide parking. Especially when anyone with any sense would know that this would be the end result--people parking, blocking the road.

I mentioned We saw a Shuttle sign last week. There is a sign as your enter Jordan Village for a shuttle to the beach restaurant. The sign is using there logo. Now where the parking is anyones guess because where we thought it could be was totally blocked off. So there’s a sign for shuttle but couldn’t find one for the actually parking area.

OK, I would be interested to hear if anyone is able to find out where the parking is supposed to be.

They do have a very nice ,stretched , golf cart with the name of the business on the front of it. Guessing it would hold 8 passengers. So that would make sense for parking across the road. Can’t wait to go back and figure it all out.😊

Could be and is plenty of room to park along the road. Just push those huge boulders pack 8 feet a little onto the golf course and on the other side that just trashed anyhow. Its not going to matter that much when playing golf and very quick and easy to do. I see those boulders put along side the road all ofter the Island to keep cars off of a vacant lot. EZPZ.

Those boulders were placed to keep people OFF THE GOLF COURSE! Please don’t suggest people just push and park! This is private property. Even if there is room, you don’t have the right to park there. They are running shuttles from starz parking lot. The main Mullet parking lot needs to be expanded and a walkway made to this place. Walking across the golf course is just not safe. Many do play it and someone is going to get killed either from being on it when people T off or from cars not being able to get through the road. On many occasions the road is down to one lane and is very dangerous. And imagine an emergency vehicle needing to get through

Hey kim, did you notice on your last trip the number of cars parking in the area directly behind Rosies? I thought there used to be a chain there, coming off the main parking lot, that prevented beach goers from driving in that area. I know some of the workers and vehicles delivering goods would go in there but in March I saw probably 20 or so cars parked in that area every time I went to Mullet Bay.
I agree on not moving the boulders and if they were moved, I could see it creating double parking and possibly creating even more of a headache.

Yes! We were one of the first to the beach one day and Chester called it “VIP” parking. We took advantage of it as we knew we would be able to get out!!! When I asked why they were allowing parking he said because there isn’t enough. They could triple the size of the lot with one machine!!! Here in CT If the parking lot to the beach is full, you can’t go!!! rhine Road has become ridiculous.

Ok, I wondered about the "VIP lot" but Chester never mentioned it to me. I was usually one of the first 10 or so cars in the regular lot and got a decent spot every time. They really do need more parking. and have for a long time.

I’m sure he was kidding about “vip”. But he was out in the lot doing “his thing” to get people to the chairs. I usually stay far away from that end from December to April!!! Way too busy! But now that “my end” (hehehe) has been invaded looks like we will be trucking over to Plum more and more!!

Not advocating people move the boulders, government and Mullet Bay should work together to resolve the problem. Yes technically private property which I don’t understand how the government can keep such a critical sxm road private. Its very common for governments to reclaim private land for road expansion etc for the better good of the people , eminent domain. As said this road issue is also a big safety issue. Unlike most of the island Fortunately their is plenty of room without affecting the golf course to widen the road. A parking lot would be ideal but it will to fill up soon too. But realistically a lot of sxm lip service and nothing will probably happen.

I'm not so sure "eminent domain" is something on St Maarten.
