We absolutely love the food at FriarsBayBC. Glad you both were able to get into the water. My problem is never getting in but more like getting back out again. Safely!

We've never been and I have no good reason as to why not! I will have to put it on the list for July! Is the road worse/better than the road to Anse Marcel? I always felt that one was a bit unsettling.
crsxm--the road to Friars is BUMPY. To me, much worse than Anse Marcel, which to me is just up and down and a little tiny bit scary, but a very smooth, good road overall. Friars is like driving on a cow path.
Ok, we will give it a try this year. It simply amazes me that no matter how many times you visit the Island, you can always find something new to try! And of course with TTOL, there's just endless information and always a quick reply or suggestion. Love it! Thank you.
Another major issue between the two access routes to Friars is that those roads are unpaved in major portions or at least they were last time we were there, unlike the hillside road into AM which is totally paved all the way in. And the views on the way down to Ans Marcel offer some beautiful vistas although not so much on the way into FB.

For Friars, just go in the Gutside route and park behind Kali's, short walk. Also, last times there no small rocks along the shore. My only wish for FBBC is lounge pads, other than that my favorite on island. Great vibe, great food and the staff is fantastic if you choose to let them be fantastic and treat them with respect. TB

I get you. The spot is soo lovely (calmest beach I have ever seen) and the food.. yum. The lack of cushions for my weary bones not so nice but that is the case on the few beaches we tried outside Orient. Totally spoiled by Orient Bay Beach and those lux cushions, you bet ya! But we will so be back at Friar's Bay for the food (and might brave the cushionless chairs) no matter what. Gorgeous spot!
We have been there, prior to Irma, when they had cushions. I think they may have charged for them, minimally, don't recall the charge but I know we got them.
If Iβm remembering correctly, FBBC used to give you two chairs, an umbrella and a small table free with food and/or drinks but if you wanted the thick foam mats, at one they charged three dollars apiece although I think they did go up to five. But this was going back quite a few years and definitely pre-Irma. Once we started staying regularly at BSV we tended to go less and less to other beaches and FBBC became more of an awesome lunch spot rather than a beach day depending on the wave action at Simpson Bay.

Thanks for posting the pics. That beach does look calm. I'm basically a non-swimmer so may have to stop there for some beach time on our upcoming trip.
