We had a great trip June 2021 (first since Irma) and are considering going back this August. We love to stay in Terres Basses and enjoy the French side however I’m concerned everything will be closed.

Does anyone have good insight into what is opened vs. closed since COVID in the Maho, Sandy Ground, Marigot, Grand Case areas?

In August, pretty much everything will be open, unless of course it never reopened post Covid. Some restaurants now close on certain nights of the week, like Monday, for example. Virtually all restaurants on the French side take their vacations in September/October timeframes. Most Dutch side restaurants don't seem to take vacation.

We are booked at La Favorita for August 18-15, 2022.
You will find almost all restaurants open as the third week to September 1 is usually the start of vacation time
If we know we hit the restaurant our first week before closing
We made it into Spiga this past visit 2 days before closure as their closure always coincides with your time on the island.
if only looking for a villa for 2, check out La Nina and La Pinta, checked off all our needs except for view

WIsh we lived closer a we are only using two of our three bedrooms but know it is very difficult to eat and live with someone for a week and not necessarily have to be joined at the hip
Our other couple like us have no expense budget when it comes to dining out
I do need to tell the other female that you don't dress fancy in SXM, she is always well coiffured
