We were thinking of heading to CGB tomorrow from Anegada. Read there might be some swell coming in so would need to come up with Plan B. Can anyone confirm or deny the swell situation?
Thanks
David

You should be fine. Wind should be out of the east at about 20k which is perfect for your route....nice beam to broad reach....and the swells should be 5'-7' @ 9 second off your port quarter. I would def do it. However, if the ride isn't comfortable, try heading for Diamond Reef / Marina Cay for a better angle.

It looks like a 1.7m north swell @ 10 seconds ( WindGuru BVI). You won't notice it while sailing but it might make CGB uncomfortably rolly overnight. It might be better to head to Diamond Cay (or the North Sound) which offer complete protection from northerly swells. If you do stay at CGB I would be interested to read if you felt a swell.

Swell picked up overnight..5 to 6 feet right now but should not have a serious effect on CGB. I am heading over there shortly and will report back..

No surfers yet, so that's a good sign.

It's a pretty good break going by the point.

Boats look pretty stable at this point. Unless it's going to build, I wouldn't worry about it.

You can always go to my website and click on the Sunset Cam button to see the real-time view. Boats are facing NE now so starting to roll a bit more. The swell is now breaking over the reef starting from BoatyBall #5 all the way southwest to the shore line.

I zoomed the webcam in a bit on the boats so it's a little easier to see the break and the boats moving.

I was in the anchorage last night on a 62 Lagoon and even it was rolling around pretty good. Comfortable but getting on/off the dinghy was a little difficult. The dinghy dock claimed two dinghies that I saw yesterday and was not safe to leave a dinghy at.

Today it's a whole new Bay. The swell has laid down and it's quite nice pretty much anywhere in the anchorage!

Come and enjoy! Enjoy some music at the Elms and watch the sunset. This week is one of the few thru the year that the sun sets into the water from CGB. Saw a green flash from the beach on Monday...

Thanks Jason, we ended up pulling into Diamond Cay for the night. Will probably do CGB tomorrow or Friday/Sat.

If you come over today, I highly recommend stopping by The Elm for happy hour with Jeff Ross playing solo! We went last night and he is truly a gifted performer (former lead guitarist for Lou Reed). Full of stories and great music. The Elms has a nice happy hour menu and great drinks. It's a bit of a sleeper/hidden gem in CGB.

Thanks! Come on down and enjoy the view in person....

We have room!

TTOL had a nice turnout at the Elms last night. 3 from my house, Dave and his crew, Manpot, and the crew from OHANA.

Fun night last night, Jeff was great, quite the story teller! Will probably be back tonight. They have a seafood boil on special I think?
Also anyone know where in CGB to get wine, especially red. Bobby's was just about sold out.

You could walk down to Columbus Sunset and see what they have. It's on the left side of the street just after the cemetery but before the distillery. Also, Bobby's and Riteway will deliver if you get really desperate.
