Since there was a discussion on the noise in Simpson Bay you might want to do this.

In the week I have been here, I have not noticed any major noise/music. Sat. night Lee's was somewhat loud but my room is right above the restaurant. Nothing from BBB, Roxxy or the shacks.

They did on Saturday night. I believe either the menu or a sign indicated all nights but I do not think they did Sunday night. They were pa=laying some decent music Sat.

Thanks. They did not have live music last August when we were there but said they hoped to start back sometime in the future.

We stayed at Royal Palm mid February. Everyone kept mentioning noise levels at Roxy but we didn't hear them once. If I was in the bedroom on the street side I could hear Nowhere Special but in the bedroom closest to the water not a sound.

Would anyone actually do this - that is, would someone actually lodge a complaint with the Ministry of Tourism because the music from a bar, club or restaurant was, in their opinion, too loud?

I think that if you opt to stay somewhere on the island that is close to restaurants and nightlife, then you might expect some nightlife-type noise.

Yes. People have complained in the past on this forum of the noise from loud establishments and have inquired who to complain to. Hope this helps them.

Frankly, I would. We often FEEL music at night, coming from around Karakter, all the way down at Beachside Villas. Have often felt it around 1 AM. If it were closer, I would definitely complain, yes.

Do you suppose the complaint goes directly to the trash or do they wait a few days before filing in the circular bin?

Now why would you say that? I wpuld think that if they got multiple complaints for the same establishment they would respond to it.

They usually have a smart-a$$ comment on most things. But they may have a valid point, who knows?

As I stated, the noise has not at all been an issue in the 8 days I have been here. Biggest noise issue now is all the generators running due to a GEBE outage.

The only music I want to hear is the sound of the ocean outside my deck!!! Thanks for posting the link. But as one poster said, It most likely it goes to file #13!!! SMH!!

I just looked at the complaint form. First, nowhere on the form does it say where to send it. On the site, there is an address but no email address. A tourist might not have access to a printer. Second, it states that the complaint will be investigated within 30 days. Most tourists aren’t on island that long. Seems like the form is there to placate tourists.

Also, I thought that there ware a noise ordinance stating a time each night to turn down the music. Call the police or front desk. ( probably won’t help either.)

I do think they pay attention to the noise complaints. Those who live there and have to work the next day do not appreciate the load noise. We lived in SBYC many years ago and Neil''s Party boat was blasting and drove right along the shore. They could look into our units.
And before Lagoonies was "chic", they would blast noise that we heard in our bedroom directly across from lagoon.
Several of us complained.
Cheers
