Hi we're arriving 5/23 and two in our party have passports expiring 6/22. I have heard that many destinations have waived the 6 month rule for passport expiration. We have never been close to expiration when we traveled to SXM so I don't know if this rule ever applied. I've looked at state.gov but couldn't find the answer to my question.
The couple has since reapplied for expedited passports but would still like to know.
Thanks

For travel to SXM ONLY, your passport only needs to be valid for the length of your stay. Other islands, as for example, Anguilla or St. Barts, MAY have a different rule. So long as they intend to stay on the island of Sint Maarten/St. Martin, they will be fine.
