Well, after having to cancel our trip in January due to fear of Covid we still have our April trip booked with some friends. Long story short, husband and I both finally got Covid last week. We both were able to get a PCR test here in Canada as I’m in a patient facing profession. Because of this, we both basically have a “get out of jail free card” for 6 months. We don’t have to test to come back into Canada or have a random test upon arrival back in Canada or even better, worry about testing positive in SXM and getting put in a room for 10 days. Since we feel better about going to SXM now, we’d like to add a few days on to the beginning of our trip before our friends arrive. Are there any good suggestions on a website or place to stay for those extra days? We have a fabulous villa booked for a week with friends, but we’re definitely not doing an extra three days there as it would pretty much break the bank. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

You could check availability at Beachside Villas. It’s a popular time to be there but if you’re lucky enough to find dates you’ll love it there forever. There’s something about being there right on the beach……it gets to your soul. 😊😊

La Vista has quite a few vacancies. lavistaresort.com . Also check La Vista Resort Owners page on FB. Several listings.

You can also do a search on Kayak for your specific dates. It will at the very least give you some idea of what is available and where.

Depending on where the Villa is I would stay on the other part of the island. We enjoy eating on both sides of the island but don't always like traveling the 30 some minutes to diner especially after drinking While we still eat mostly on the French side there are definitely been some more good restaurants opened on the Dutch side
Another option would be to spend a few days "relaxing" in Anguilla, We love Mead's Bay and Turtle's Nest for a place to stay

Unless you plan to visit in April, not before, then BSV is booked. We couldn't get it until April 2. So we booked Horney Toad a shot walk up the same beach. Since they offered us a choice of rooms I'd think they have vacancy before April.
