My computer charger says " input 100-240~2.5A 50-60Hz ". I have a converter set that has an adapter to plug my charger into and then plug the adapter into the French side wall outlet. Is that safe or will it damage my charger or computer? TIA

" input 100-240~2.5A 50-60Hz " will work with the proper adapter plug, no additional converter is necessary. For complete safety a surge suppressor would be needed, but almost nobody goes that far.

A plug adapter is all that's needed for charging phones and laptops (no voltage converter), but not all devices. We've done this with no damage.

I'm going where the weather suits my clothes.

You are fine. French side is 220V and your computer is fine with that. You just need the physical adapter, which you mentioned that you have. This is pretty standard on laptops.
