Looks like our normal agency no longer has Durangos. We have six people and would like a single vehicle. Any recs? Any of the agencies allow Jeep to go topless? If so, we would be willing to rent a pair and our normal agency doesn't allow that either.
thnx
Nothing planned.....please help!

The usual suspects offer Durangos - Varlack Ventures, Conrad Sutton, St. John Car Rental, O'Connor's.
I don't know of a single STJ car rental company that allows you to go topless. It's a frequent request, but wet interiors and broken car tops are the reasons given. Budget or Avis on STT may permit topess.

I just did a quick search and I found a safari truck at Cool Breeze www.coolbreezecarrental.com I'm always a St John Car Rental customer so I don't know anything about Coolbreeze other than it's on the corner by Natures Nook and Caps Place.

Paris Car Rental has Durangos, and were able to set us up with a last minute 3-day Durango rental in high season this past January. I was very pleased with them. About a 500 yard (5 minute) walk uphill from the ferry dock on Prince St then turn right onto the dead-end side street just before Starfish Market.

FYI....Conrads will no longer have Durangos after July 14 according to Carmen. After always renting from them...ease of walking there from ferry dock, free parking in Cruz Bay, we'll need to rent somewhere else. Haven't decided.
Beerman...Safari truck is out. Our DD said she doesn't want to be stuck up front with a bunch of monkeys in the back, although it does sound safer than being with us.
Does St John Car Rental, Coolbreeze or Paris have parking in Cruz Bay? We can always get our villa manager to give one of us a ride to the rental agency while other stay with luggage at ferry, so the walk isn't a big deal. Maybe parking in August isn't much of a big deal either. Never noticed since we always parked at Conrads.

I think most everybody allows parking in their lots "after hours", however with the new gravel lot we have not found parking a big deal anymore. Yeah it is a short walk, but a very short walk. Sometimes a short walk is good after being downtown having fun.
As for the coming and going when traveling in a group: In the past our villa greeters have loaded the luggage in their car and then wait for the rental car transaction. We head to the villa together.
On the way home, the ladies get driven into town and have Bloody Mary(s). The guys do the final villa walk around load up the car with luggage and return to town.
Smiling ladies at JJs (Now Cruz Bay Landing) watch the luggage, while rental car gets returned. Then it is ferry time.
Yeah it is a lot of moving parts, but hey no big deal your in the islands.
