Curious if anyone has stayed at a lower level room at either hotel and can share from personal experience how quiet or noisy those rooms are...mostly concerned with noise coming from patrons in rooms above the lower rooms. Thanks!

Not necessarily there but my experience with any lower lever room at resorts have more problems with mosquitos and crawling insects.

We booked Orient Beach hotel for a stay in early March. That was one of the many reasons we booked 3rd floor room. Yes, it is a little more money, but for the privacy, noise, mosquitos, other insects, iguanas (yes, we had an "experience" previously) and of course the view, I am happy to pay a little more. Anyone can comment on seaweed? I heard it is not that bad during winter and early spring compare to summer month.

I'm not familiar with that particular hotel, other than from the outside. To me, these days, I wouldn't want to climb all the way to the third floor, as there are no elevators.

Seaweed was reasonable in mid-November; by early December it was so bad that the beach restaurants didn't even try to clean it up.

I see your point, but other than the first and the last day when we have to carry our carry-ons, I don't see it being a major issue.

" I wouldn't want to climb all the way to the third floor" WE are both in our mid 70's. Our Flamingo villa unit is on third floor and yes it's a bit much first and last day to haul luggage up those stairs. $20 tip takes care of that for us. Other than that it just helps us keep in shape and burn those calories so easily taken in on island.

Good for you, Scuba, that you feel like doing that.

Having the unit we do makes it all worthwhile.
