We were going to fly Delta through SJU (Silver as partner to EIS) in one ticket for our March trip. Delta changed flight times and the partner connections no longer work, so they routed us through STT using Cape Air. Not a problem for us as we typically fly through STT but I have questions regarding connecting flights there. Does anyone know if Delta transfers our bags to Cape Air (one ticket, checked through) or will we need to claim our bags, recheck and go through the ghoulish security at STT? Hoping the bags get transferred and we merely walk to the Cape Air gate. If not we may look at new options. We're traveling with one 95L Osprey duffel (checked) and a backpack each. Thanks!

MIDiver, I do not believe your bags will transfer. If I'm not mistaken, it has been awhile, but I am pretty sure you will grab your bags after a shot of rum. Then walk everything to Gate 10 to meet Cape Air.

Thanks - that is our normal process for Island Birds, but didn't know how Cape would operate. Just hoping for Gate 10 instead of one of those interior gates in the general mayhem area (they have a designated gate area there) which would likely mean security...... I did email them but they have been slow to respond in the past.

Even if they don't transfer your bags, you won't need to go thru security. Just grab your bag, head out of the terminal and the commuter planes are to the right at the end of the terminal.
