Was anyone a passenger on West Jet Flight # 2653 from St Maarten to Toronto on December 7, 2021 - that was cancelled and rescheduled to leave the next morning on December 8, 2021 ? Just wondering if anyone has received and/or heard from West Jet at this point about receiving their compensation for hotel coverage etc. ? I submitted the form for compensation well over a month ago - and at this point haven't heard a word from West Jet. Just wondered if this is their usual process for covering cancellation expenses. Thanks

I was not on that flight, but we cancelled our January 13th flight to SXM and our return to YYZ on February 17th. They were booked on separate tickets. For some reason our travel bank credits for the outbound flight only show a 12-month expiry, instead of the proper 24 months. The return flight was properly credited. Trying to get hold of someone is difficult due to all the changes and cancellations they are currently experiencing.
I don't think, under the current conditions, that a month is all that long, although it would certainly feel like it! To help resolve our problem we went on the website and you can ask someone to call you back at a phone number you provide. They give you a choice of dates and times. We did that yesterday and the first time available was this coming Thursday evening, so we booked it. Perhaps try that option?
