Yesterday, we saw that Intercaribbean Air cancelled its flights for today, 1/9, between SJU and EIS. We are scheduled to fly from SJU to EIS this Wednesday, the 12th. Anyone have updates, please?

They are short of pilots and airframes. Is your ticket booked directly with them or a partner? Flight aware shows they did operate 2 of the 3 flights yesterday but have pre canceled everything today.

Thanks George. We are booking Cape Air as a backup.

Liat, Air Sunshine, and InterCaribbean occupy the bottom rung of the reliability ladder. Those folks were lucky the flights were cancelled a day ahead, because this week IC left others sitting in Antigua, after calling their flight, with no compensation. All three of those airlines operate well for periods of time, and then things go wrong.
Cape Air is more reliable. They, too, have run into issues, but they seem to be more resilient. Yes, they charge more, but you get what you pay for.

InterCaribbean has canceled all 3 flights tomorrow. I am not sure what is going on. Normally you would spread your cancelations around different city pairs.

Sunsail's travel agency, which booked us on IC, had no clue as of this morning. Waiting for a call back. Cape Air has no open flights for Wednesday.

I have read that there is a guy called Luther at TravelWize who keeps track of charters and other options. You might want to contact him.

Flightaware.com is a good sight for close in info on flight status. Go to the website and scroll down just a bit to search by route. Type in SJU, select the airport in the pop up and do the same for EIS. You must pull the airports from the pop up. It will show a 72 hour window including 24 hours ahead. Currently it shows InterCaribbean operating their first flight on Tuesday so maybe they are getting back on their feet. G

It looks to me that IC has cancelled every flight since Sunday including tomorrow's 2:30 flight. I'm booked with them in March, but I'm definitely starting to worry they aren't up to the task

We chartered a 6 seater for the 4 of us. Marginally more expensive than Cape Air, but lots more peace of mind.

InterCaribbean operated their last flight to Tortola today and shows a full schedule for tomorrow. Maybe they are getting back on their feet.

We saw an IC flight take off shortly before 3 pm. Trouble is, who wants to trust their vacation to such an unreliable airline. I checked their website, and there was no mention of flight cancellations.

Actually they are posting flight tracking with cancellations for today and tomorrow. https://www.intercaribbean.com/travel-tools/flight-track.htmlI'm watching as we are slated for March SJU-EIS flights and hoping they get more up to speed in the next couple months.

I thought they might be back up and running after they operated their first flight in 3 days. I guess it was a head fake. We canceled the 31 Jan trip regardless as several people going were not willing to risk a positive test for the return. Probably for the best as it seems like half the people I know are popping positive.

We are thinking of booking Seaborne again from San Juan to Tortola. Any news on their flights being cancelled?

No flights were cancelled yesterday, 1/12. The first flight is canceled for today which is not uncommon if the flights aren't full and they can accommodate the passengers on a later flight.

But really sucks if you have a connecting flight to catch!

Does it make any difference if you are on a code share? For example, we have AA tickets all the way from SFO to EIS and back. Outgoing it shows Cape Air and returning the tickets show us on Silver Air. Is there likelihood that these will be cancelled if they aren't full?

Those two are less likely to cancel, especially Cape Air. Plus, American would have to put you up, although you might have to insist. One time, on an AA ticket, Seaborne caused up to miss our connection. American tried to make us deal with Seaborne, but we said, "No, it's your ticket, you fix it!"

We flew into SJU on 1/12 and took our Bode Air charter to EIS. Watched the2:35 pm IC flight to EIS take off and saw it return to SJU around 5:30. Expensive but glad we chartered. COVID testing and clearance at EIS was quick and easy. BTW, our provisioning included a Good Moon Farms fruit and Veggie box. Fresh papayas, mangoes, avocados, green beans, tomatoes, avocado. Delicious!
Moored at the Indians now for a morning snorkel before sailing to JVD. Glad we came.

Moored at the Indians now for a morning snorkel before sailing to JVD. Glad we came. This was the first trip out of 5 this past year that Good Moon Farm “forgot” to deliver our order. We were really disappointed as their produce is so darn good. Enjoy your trip - JVD has been the busiest location since we arrived 1/2. Up in North Sound now (again - lol) and BEYC and Saba are very quiet.
