Does anyone know when the AA counter opens for check-in and baggage drop off?We would like to check-in and drop bags early, then head over to Sunset Beach Bar for lunch before we fly home.
Thanks

I'm also interested in this info. I have a 1:20 pm flight out on December 4th.

Be there 3 hours before your flight.

Scuba-- Then original poster wants to be able to check in and leave and go have lunch somewhere. I don't honestly know if you can do that now, with all the Covid stuff.
Today, which is a Saturday, in high season, there was an AA flight that left for Charlotte around 11 AM (which has already departed, apparently). So today, the AA terminal presumably would have been open around 8 AM. You can see the Juliana schedule for flights on their website. Tomorrow (Sunday), apparently the first AA flight isn't until 3:30, so it apparently varies a lot, based on the day of the week.

Not AA but last week, JB said you could NOT check in early, drop bags and leave to return prior to flight time. And AA wouldn’t let us do it the last time we flew them which I think was April of this year or last November. Things do change but……..We used to enjoy those extra few hours……..
Respectfully,
pat

Yes, Pat, that is the question. That is perhaps a thing of the past.

Just a follow up…. Could not drop bags “early”. However, on the plus side… using VeriFLY and the AA ap was able to complete all required paperwork online and get boarding pass prior to going to airport. Total time from arriving to airport and clearing security was 30 minutes BUT it was Thanksgiving so not very busy.

Thanks for the follow-up, regarding dropping bags early. As I suspected, and too bad...

We were hoping to drop bags and come back later. Plan B is now in effect. We will checkin and head down to the bar and have a nice burger from Johnny Burger. Less stress that way.

NumberCruncher--I assume you know that Johnny (sp???) Burger is now quite a ways away from the bar. No food available at the bar, which is downstairs now. The bar is a huge bar area, with tons of seating. It would be nicer if there were food closer, but it is what it is, I guess. Do what we did, which is I went directly to the bar, and Eric went to Jonny Burger to get a burger and bring downstairs.

Thanks, Carol, for that info. We will be back in January, but haven't been back since we left in February 2020, due to no flights available from Canada until recently. So I am going by memory from the airport configuration as it was back then, although I gather it may not have changed that much yet!
Just to confirm, is the bar still in the departures area where all the gates are (downstairs) after the ramp/stairs? I therefore assume Johney Burger is where the other food outlets were, in a little food court just after clearing security and immigration, but before you head down the ramp or stairs to the departure gates? The pictures on TA seem to indicate that. Or has it changed?

Yes, Johney Burger and the rest of the food places are in the food court just after security, but on the main floor, before you head downstairs. And the bar is downstairs, but there are restrooms downstairs, which there didn't use to be.
