I'm sailing this week in USVI. I have a crew member who would like to go do down to Dinghies on water island. Was wondering if it would be good overnight spot and is it worth trip for an slog back east the next morning. Thanks folks.

We enjoy Water Island. Living in Coral Bay, St. John we get the downwind / upwind slog. Still, we'll be popping to Water Island this weekend. Honeymoon Beach is wonderful. The anchorage has some sandy spots away from moorings. More rocky further out. Dinghies can get very busy with the cruise ships running again.

Thanks Rick, great to see you are living down here. We spent the day in Coral bay at the lime Bar, great fun had by all. Are the moorings overnight or day buoys and is there plenty of anchor room? Thanks Again Jon.

The moorings are private. There are two guys that will rent them, but DPNR does not approve. There is plenty of room to anchor and that is what we do. There is room to beach the dinghy at both ends of the beach.

Cheers, Rick
