This was a very low-keyed day, even for us. Slept well and finally got up but very late. The honest truth - we were trying to make up for some of the lost shut-eye from travel day, but sadly, once it’s gone you just can’t get the hours back.
Had breakfast in - coffee and pastries from the freezer - thank you, Jeannie Gee, for always providing the best the island has to offer.
I was feeling a little punky so we were content to lay low, me and my new best buddy, Mr. Cane.. We had some great porch time but the sounds of the crashing waves kept lulling us off to lalaland. John ran up to the market at PortoCupecoy to pick up a few items I missed when I placed my order with Jeannie, and when he got back we had lunch in, after which we went out to the pool and visited with guests sort of from home but whom we’ve come to know through previous visits - always a pleasant way to spend time.
Dinner was at Bar Code, one of our old favorites and it was consistently good. And then, back to the hacienda for some tv time and an early turn-in. Probably going to do more of the same tomorrow - we are such wild and crazy island visitors.
Observation of the day - driving through Mullet to get to dinner and coming home again, we were amazed at the lunacy of some of the drivers we encountered. And the one thing we took note of was every car that passed us on that narrow and windy road through the golf course had French plates. We don’t speed through there but we don’t poke along either. Unbelievable!
Respectfully,
pat

Glad you made it safe and sound Pat. When I went to the airport on Friday, it was right after your plane landed. I looked around a little bit for you but missed you. It sounds like you and John are off to a great start. Enjoy every minute of it.

Sounds like a nice low key beginning to the trip. How are Lake Beacon Hill and Lake Mullet at the moment??

Beacon Hill is slowly drying up. Pat and John missed the worst of it
As for Mullet, completely dry!

Yesterday when John went out there was a pumper truck sucking up most of the amassed rain water and it was very easily passable.

Pat, did you order off the menu or have a special of the night at Bar Code?

Off the menu. The specials didn’t appeal at all to us, which was unusual. It’s just a pleasant and peaceful place and the music is played at a decibel level that allows you to actually talk to each other across the table. 🙂🙂
