Hi,
My wife and I are coming down to VG in a couple of days and United Airlines still shows the travel portal as being required even for vaccinated travelers. We just caught it yesterday and filled out the portal but are a little concerned we won't hear back in time. Contacted United and the person there said they would report it and it "shouldn't" affect our ability to board the plane. Shouldn't is a long way from won't though. Any advice?

Where are you flying to?
The USVI travel portal is required for flights to STT.
The PR portal has never been required for in-transit passengers but many airlines are confused by it.
I doubt United cares about entry to the BVI so I suspect they are referring to one of the others.

We are flying through SJU to EIS. We connect there to Silver Airways and it is a code share flight, so they are asking for it per their pre-travel check list.

Are they asking for the BVI or PR portal? Vaccinated travelers can't even fill out the BVI portal any longer because Vaccinated Status isn't available. If it's the PR Portal they want, just fill it out. It's free and takes 5 minutes. Our guests have had to select the airport hotel as their lodging location and for dates, choose departing the next day. You'll only need it to satisfy an uninformed agent in the US. Nobody in PR will ask.

LOL.. I know and it is frustrating---we did the PR one just to be safe and it was easy. QR code came in minutes. The other has me worried though since they don't seem to understand or have changed policy after nearly 30 days of release.
I have been following the posts here in the forum and you have been incredibly helpful. Hopeful that this is just all going to sort itself out and looking forward to some island time.
thanks
Barry

They will and should just ask for your vax card and negative test result.

I reported this to Clive McCoy of the BVI Tourist Board on October 10th and he assured me they were working on it. It was a traveler on United who reported it then.
Frustrating.

United rep said they would put in a ticket with the "right" group on their end as well. Not sure if it will do much though.

LOL, just found out my Binax test was flagged as unacceptable by United. My wife who took the same test went through fine. Sigh
Resubmitting now but starting to get the shakes from stressing over this. Not a happy camper to say the least.

The information that comes thru on your phone app is not sufficient. You need the lab report that gets emailed and you have to get rid of the password protection on the report.

We flew United a few weeks ago and had the same issue. We just printed the BVI government announcement of the new changes and showed it to the gate agent. No problems.

What process is United asking you to go through? There is no Portal anymore other than registering and paying for the arrival test. They might check at the gate that you have a test within 5 days.

Their ‘guidelines’ still say that you must have approval through the BVI Portal.
