The French Gendarmerie seized 8 two wheel vehicles on Wednesday and some will be destroyed. Article link below Gendarmerie vs bikes

Good to hear. It seems that most of these scofflaws are using bikes that are not registered and not insured.

Thank you for posting this. It definitely sounds like a step in the right direction. Hope they stick with it.
We witnessed ‘kids’ on bicycles last trip harassing motorists in the main drag of Maho and I thought at the time, what comes next? Either a serious injury to the kids. Or worse?

I agree with you wholeheartedly and observed the very same thing in Maho this past July. The bikes were up on the sidewalks, on the side opposite the casino, running up and down and doing donuts. They aren't only a public nuisance but a grave danger to the public.

When we saw the bikers they were at the other end of Maho where the Carpark exits to the road that takes you through Mullet or out to Point Pirouette and just in general being a PITA to drivers and pedestrians alike. But it was strange to see them raising hello through most of our dinner but at 9:00 pm they disappeared. Curfew? Who knows but things became much saner with them gone, if that intersection can ever be deemed sane.
My biggest fear is those annoying biker kids back in April might well become the suicyclists of the near future and quite clearly, they didn’t care who they annoy. Very happy the Gendarmes are taking a stand and I hope the Dutch police stay on the same page.

Glad to see that some action is finally being taken. This will be difficult to control but there must be an end to the biker groups who are surrounding vehicles, bikers weaving in and out of traffic, all of it.

Yesterday while in the car we noticed Dutch Police at several places, noted for where the suicycles tends to enter/congregate.
