The twists and turns of fate are peculiar.

As of 4 weeks ago we had no sailing trip on the books this year.

The wife and I finally decided to book a monohull in mid July, thinking we'd have a nice low-key sail with just the two of us - like the old days. We quickly booked our flights.

I mentioned this to my business partner about two weeks ago, and got a call a week later - and he's asking if we could fit 8 more people on the boat!? <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Yikes.gif" alt="" />

So a quick email to CYOA revealed that they have a 4-cabin Lipari 41 Cat named Sail Pending available during the same time period.

Well, now we're switched and with 8 people aboard it's probably gonna be anything but a low-key charter. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" /> Should be fun though! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/pirate.gif" alt="" />

Sail Pending is a new one. We've seen her on the dock a couple of times, very nice.

Has the Itinerary planning begun?
SVI or USVI?

BTW... If your business partner is going with you... who is watching the business <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" />

Tom - We were initially planning to go back to the USVI/BVI.

The idea was to hit some new spots as well as some old-standbys.

Most of the crew will be landlubbers, so we'll probably stick to that plan, but avoid the more bouncy stuff... i.e. we will probably not explore the south side of St. John like we were initially thinking.

We might go for Anegada if waves and weather allow. That will be a judgment call when the time comes.

Generally we'll be sneaking around in the lee of anything we can to keep everyone as comfortable as possible. The BVI is good for that, and Drake Channel is pretty mellow most of the time.

The company's up to around 100 people now ... they can handle stuff for a couple of weeks without us.

Yes, thanks, there are some nice pictures of the boat there.
When we put the deposit down, CYOA mentioned it.

Walt, you can visit the south side, love Salt Pond, from Norman on the way back from BVI. This way you'll be downwind back to St.Thomas.

Evan... How do you do that without clearing into C&I at Cruz Bay first?

Although you are suppose to clear the closest entrance, you still may clear in C.A. You can also come along the south side and still clear in Cruz. We always anchor in the little anchoring area, it's mud and sticks fast.
