In the past there was no parking. Don't know about post Irma, but I doubt it. Personally, I wouldn't care to stay in that area, unless perhaps it was at the Villas at Great Bay..

Well, I stayed there once, years ago. The first night someone slashed 2 tires on my rental car. The second night someone hiested the car's battery. I moved on after that....I couldn't afford it! Philipsburg is no place to be at night - the bad guys come out.

I would say that Passangraham is the exception. Secure parking, and an absolutely delightful place.

Just my personal experience.

Cheers

Passangrahan was lovely - so very sad to see it closed. We stayed there once and loved the property but it definitely wasn’t a comfortable location after dusk.

We wanted to walk to dinner at Antoines and mentioned this to the owner when we stopped in to make a reservation. He suggested we not plan on walking in town at night but if we were determined to do so, he would have someone personally take us back. We ended up driving…….And that was our only stay in town.

I wonder how Holland House guests feel about being in town at night…..🙂🙂

Respectfully,

pat

Hello Pat ,
Holland always has a good occupancy with people from Europe especially from Holland and do enjoy themselves . Right now we have a lot of Internships Students staying their for over two months . We have two of them one for two weeks and another for a whole month .And every year , we get our long time Dutch Lady friend that has a business in Aruba and she and her Husband plus friends always makes their trip here . Plus they do Saba and Statia too will here .
Also me and Wife love to do a little hangout in the afternoon in their beach lounge area have a bottle of Wine and their Hamburgers or Chicken Sate .

We stayed there twice through II trades. Both times we parked in their gated lot across the street. It's been probably 8 to10 years since the last stay. Totally different feel for the Island staying there.

Next SXM visit -November 2023. Also January 2024.

Norm, I also stayed there about that many years ago, when the Heineken Regatta was in Phillipsburg which by the way was a blast and a great reason to be at Sea Palace. We had that lot option or it may have just ended but we were able to park on the street close by. What we remember is the staff was fantastic, the water pressure was not. The housekeeping staff did a great job, maintenance on the property not so much. It would have rivaled any front office staff on island and we have stayed at over 30 properties, but I am not sure we would stay there again. With regatta it worked but I just don't think we want to stay in P'burg at this time. It sure would be a different trip.
Cheers!

I prefer the Isle seat
