I’ve been away from TTOL for quite some time but hope that travelers can assist me. We are traveling from USA to Cancun and wish to confirm what the present guidelines are to travel round trip? Any testing verification needed to enter Mexico? Testing requirements to leave Mexico and return to Atlanta USA? Thank you

Hello! This is the current situation, BUT there is talk that Q Roo may begin requiring proof of vaccination, or a negative test, waiting for updates…

FLYING INTO MEXICO
You do NOT need a Covid-19 test to enter Mexico by air, nor do need to complete a health questionnaire. You need only your passport and the FMM (immigration) form. This FMM form is 1/person and is usually handed out on the flight. Occasionally the airline runs out of these forms, and many choose to use the online portal to complete it. As long as your passport does not expire within 180 days of your arrival you can use the online option. The agent will return 1/2 of the form to you, you need that portion to exit Mexico.
This is the official INM link to the online portal, if I remember you can complete this form up to 30 days prior to your departure:
https://www.inm.gob.mx/fmme/publico/en/solicitud.html

FLYING OUT OF MEXICO TO THE US
1) Leaving Mexico and flying to the US you need to get a Covid-19 test no more than 3 days before the departure date and show a negative result to the airline before boarding the flight, or be prepared to show documentation of recovery (proof of a recent positive viral test and a letter from your healthcare provider or a public health official stating that you were cleared to travel).

2) A health questionnaire must also be shown. Here's the new link for the on-line form...
https://www.vuelaseguro.com/login
Or use the pdf...
https://img.pueblobonito.com.mx/mkt...nnaire/cuestionario-identif-friesvia.pdf
We see many people creating a queue at security trying to complete the firms there…

3) An Attestation form is required when checking-in for flights to the US (this form should be provided by the airline)..
https://www.cdc.gov/quarantine/pdf/Fillable-Attestation-English-p.pdf

4) As of 1 April 2021, a new tourist tax of 224 pesos must be paid when visiting the state of Quintana Roo. It can be paid before or during your trip by using the following website...
https://www.visitax.gob.mx//sitio/
Many have reported not being charged this tax when checking in at the airport, while others have…

Thank you for this info. Is it difficult to find a testing center prior to departure? Is there a fee for the testing?

No there are many places that do both tests, we tested at the Amatista Center which is next to the ADO terminal on 5th Ave. The cost for the antigen (US) test was ~$20 USD/pp if I remember. Very quick and painless, they email the results and you can also wait or return for a hard copy. The email includes a scan code which is also acceptable.
When we left last April we were never asked for our results, but that’s just due to the large number of people I’m sure…

If you are in the Cancun area they are located at Av. Kukulcan 8.5, Plaza Lagunas…

Note that the United airline site states you must complete a health questionnaire to enter Mexico. That is not a requirement I’ve seen anywhere here but just be aware in case it’s needed to board…
Someone also reported on Facebook they were asked for the proof of vaccination to board. That is also not a requirement and it’s strange that they had to show that…
