This story is in the Daily Herald today. Sounds like not a 'strike' per se, but a work slowdown. And encouraging airport workers to walk off the job???????????? Extremely irresponsible.
Here is a story from earlier in the week, that confirms that the police are officially in a work slowdown..
Link Scary stuff..

Not too clear on the issues, but the cop in front wearing a mask gave me a good laugh.

I would certainly think long and hard about visiting until many of the Island's problems can be resolved.

These labor issues are not just a SXM problem, happens around the World all the time and life goes on. Its normally solved by money but unfortunately the economy is not great due to the pandemic and about nobody wants realize no money coming in means no money available to go out. Gov certainly can do more to get this resolved but both need to compromise. Thats hard on SXM. IMO

Link Doesn't really sound like to me that the police won, but OK.

Time will tell. The Police is owed Millions of Guilders by the Government and the Court will rule decide on this on Friday in favour of the Police.
