Everyone check your dates for Delta in November!!!

We have had a big change!!

They said in the letter, they would give a credit for cancellations.
I think they have to give a refund, if the change is over a certain amount of time. argue

Yes, absolutely correct. If they make a major change in your flight, they HAVE to give you a refund if you want. Usually they don't want to do that, so check to see what is available with other airlines and if you can get something better, cancel and get your money back. If not, you can see if there is some other routing or dates that will work for you from Delta, as they would much rather allow you to change to something YOU want, versus giving you your money back.

Oh, no, I am so sorry to hear that Terry. And Carol is absolutely correct. If they make a significant change or a cancellation they HAVE to refund your money if that's your preference. I know you don't want to connect so that puts AA out of the picture but if you are considering JB look at their EWR flights, too. We ended up booking the flights from there for price and time.

Good luck and keep us posted as to how you make out.

Respectfully,

pat

Terry: Can you give a little more detail as to what changed, why it changed, etc.? We are flying with them in February and want to know if they have cancelled one of their normal scheduled flights for good, or what...............

Thanks

The schedule changed---why they don't even know, but it happens.
November and February can be completely different, so don't worry.
You should just keep watching your reservations, but they did get in touch with us quickly.

I phoned and the girl I spoke to could not have been nicer!

From what I can find, it is 120 minutes/2 hours schedule change for Delta to be considered for a refund. For AA it is 240 minutes/4 hours.

Sorry, Major to us...
there is no longer a flight the day we were suppose to leave. They changed it to the day before, with a 6 AM
flight from JFK, changing in Atlanta , and then on to SXM.

Our flight was suppose to be non-stop leaving at 8:30 AM.---

We are going to wait a little while, since it is in November. The young lady, I spoke to, said there could be more changes.
She did put our new seats together, since they also separated us!

If I don't see anything happening soon, we will probably take JB to SXM and keep our return flight with Delta, which didn't change---YET.
Still up in the air........

We are flying Delta down to SXM on 10 November and I just checked and no changes. The flight departs JFK at 8:35 a.m. and arrives in SXM at 1:56 p.m. The flight is direct.

It was mentioned that the following weeks hadn't been changed----
Our date is previous to yours.

I've had American pull this crap with us in the past, but never with Delta. When did you book the flights originally? If it was within the past 60 days I would suggest contacting your credit card company and seek full compensation through them. Once settled, I would rebook with Jet Blue to-and-from SXM out of either Boston or JFK. Jet Blue usually sticks to their schedules fairly well, and when flight changes are made they are usually insignificant. Good luck.

Terry JetBlue changed our outbound flight back in March to the day before as they said they had no direct flights out on a Friday so we had to go out on Thursday which meant I needed to take another of my too few vacation days. We did it though. We are on Delta in late October and received two changes to our itinerary one to an earlier departure and the other to our outbound for a later takeoff.

Louise, I could deal with another time change
but changing the day and flying to Atlanta at 6 AM, which means 3AM
at JFK is tough.

We will think about it for a while and see if our room is available .
If not, change to JB.

I know it happens all the time. We will make it work. You may see us at BSV a day earlier----:)

Delta and JetBlue constantly cancelled and changed the direct flights after New Years for us. I think I booked and canceled 5 different times!!! It was insane. Then delta added back a non stop. It was Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday flights that kept getting changed!!!! And I gave up on AA unless I wanted to get into Westchester, it that can be dicey in the winter

Kim, that's why we are waiting a little while to see if they get reinstated.
Delta always has a problem with their schedules!
I already gave up on AA a while ago !!

Was thinking of booking JB and using these tickets for April.
Sure they will get changed too, if I do!! LOL

Terry JetBlue also changed us to a connecting flight departing at 6 am a couple years back so we cancelled and booked with Delta.

Sadly, Peeps, all the airlines do it with little if any consideration or thought to the passenger. The bottom line for the informed traveler should be, once booked, check often and be prepared for 'stuff' to happen because it often can and does. Better to find out ASAP and be able to make suitable changes that work for you than to be caught off guard last minute and have to deal with whatever you can get.
