There are lots of threads on here about car rentals, many of which I have read but I'm hoping for some opinions on a specific situation. We're rebooked for SXM for March 2022 after having to cancel in February '19 due to Irma and March '20 due to COVID. I'm travelling with my wife and two children and we want to rent a car for our week long stay. We're 4 people with a decent amount of luggage so are likely looking for an SUV or Mini-Van. Can anyone recommend a company or service that is right at the airport or that will bring the vehicle to the airport? Ideally I don't want to have to shuttle the 4 of us and our gear to an off-site location to get a car if I don't have to. Thanks!
Shuttling isn't a big deal with luggage. Rental shuttle driver will handle all luggage to rental lot which most are only a 5min drive. They'll also transfer luggage to car too. Even easier going back to airport as they are able to drive right up to departure door with luggage where others can't. I use sxm Hertz if that helps.
Thanks Scubaman, I had originally booked with Hertz when we were supposed to travel last March. It can just be a bit painful with car seats etc for the kids to truck everything around but I'll look at the options and check out pricing.
We all have our "guy" but for us. It was all about service. We were with another rental company (15 years), but the service went down hill. We found through social media SAX rental. They meet you at the airport WITH the vehicle you are renting!!! Always clean and new-ish!! I asked the owners Cindy and Anil Puran is this standard going forward? We are looking to establish a long term relationship. We have been with them now 4 years and running!! We are VERY happy, you will be too!
